Quotes by Karen Burton Mains  (?)

“Hospitality, however, seeks to minister. It says, "This home is not mine. It is truly a gift from my Master. I am His servant and I use it as He desires." Hospitality does not try to impress, but to serve.”
Karen Burton Mains, Open Heart, Open Home: The Hospitable Way to Make Others Feel Welcome Wanted

“Secular entertaining is a terrible bondage. Its source is human pride. Demanding perfection, fostering the urge to impress, it is a rigorous taskmaster which enslaves. In contrast, Scriptural hospitality is a freedom which liberates.”
Karen Burton Mains, Open Heart, Open Home: The Hospitable Way to Make Others Feel Welcome Wanted

“Home is the place we should return to with eager spirits, the journey's end we reach with sighs of contentment.”
Karen Burton Mains, Open Heart, Open Home: The Hospitable Way to Make Others Feel Welcome Wanted

“Fruitfulness may be a better measurement for success than productivity because it is based more in the evaluations of others as to the meaningful role we have played in their lives then in our own importance determined according to the amount of accomplishments we can list.”

Donald Parker Hi Karen,
Thanks for the friend invite. I'd be honored if you'd check out my work at http://www.DonaldJamesParker.com Most of my books are better suited perhaps to the youth. Perhaps you have grandchildren that might like some of my books.

Vanessa Greeting Karen!

Thank you for the invite! Your books sounds heavenly.

Melissa Thank you for adding me, Mrs. Mains! I have yet to read any of your books, but the ones you mentioned look interesting, and I'd like to read "Open Heart, Open Home." Hospitality is something quite overlooked these days.

Lindsay Hi, Mrs. Mains. Thanks for adding me. It's good to "meet" you here! I've yet to read all of your book _Open Heart, Open Home_, but I've been grateful for it already. In fact, I liked the portion of the library copy I read so well that I've already purchased two copies. :-)

Karen Mains Thank you! That is greatly appreciated. I will continue to use these gifts from God, I like seeing how in any way it made impact on people's lives.

God Bless you.

Karen L. Karen,

God has gifted you to write books that really grab our hearts and change us (that is as Christians.) I found "Open Heart, Open Home" so wonderfully challenging, and our home and ministry changed forever because of reading it. Also "Making Sunday Special," encourages us to really live keeping the Sabbath in this busy hustle bustle kind of life style of the 21st century. You write in such a way that no matter what the denomination or view of the reader they can still relate. You are a great "via media" writer!
