Hey ya'll--I'm borrowing an idea from Emery over at the Historical Romance Lovers group and I've created a group page on facebook for those of us who spend time on that site as well. Just one more way for us to stay in touch and get to know each other better! It has some cool features, like the ability to post photos, videos, polls, and it even has a live group chat room. Here's the link: American Historical Fiction Fans

Shelley | 46 comments I'm confused about the Facebook page--I went there and tried to join, but I don't see any "wall" or place to post??

Anyway, thanks for making the effort to put it up. Also, I'm sorry to say that I don't know how chat rooms work over there, although I'm on Facebook....Do I click something?

I believe, as the admin, that I have to approve requests to join the page, which I just did for you. I'm trying to see if I can turn that setting off so members are automatically accepted. But you should be good to go. Bear with me a little while I figure it out :)

P.S. - Now that you've joined the group you should see a little American Historical Fiction chat box next to your regular chat box in the lower righthand corner of your screen!

Shelley | 46 comments First, if anybody hasn't dropped by yet, Jenny has set up a really nice Facebook page for us!

Second, sorry to be dumb again, but I don't see a "chat box." What does it look like and where is it? The lower right hand corner of my page seems to be blank (?)

Do you have the chat feature enabled on your profile?

message 9: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne Adair | 163 comments Thanks for setting up the FB page, Jenny. At least for me, FB is easier to navigate than Goodreads. I took the liberty of inviting several readers and authors from my FB friends who have an interest in American historical fiction.

BTW on my FB profile, the Chat feature, which usually resides in the lower right corner of the screen, has been disabled for more than a week. FB said it was down for maintenance. Heh.

Thanks, Suzanne! Everyone is welcome to invite anyone they'd like to join our group on facebook or on Goodreads!

Ken Consaul | 114 comments Just petitioned to sign up. Now I have to figure out FB. For instance, on my profile, under interests, I picked 'historical fiction novels'. Survey says-9772 like this, 34 talking about it. Great but where?

That's a good question, Ken! I'm still trying to figure out the new facebook myself. If only they would stop messing with it!

Ken Consaul | 114 comments Just wait till google plus is unveiled. More to figure

message 14: by Ken (new)

Ken Consaul | 114 comments I'm on FB, on our AHF page and up pops a 'Take the Tour'. Like a fool, I didn't click it but left the page intact. When I came back, the invite to tour was gone.
Anyone back from the tour yet or have the link. The FB help section is set up like a bunch of FAQs. Feels like going through a 'press 6 to hear these options again.'

Beverly Gray (grayarmybrat) | 78 comments Thanks for the Facebook link, Jenny. Still figuring that whole thing out.

Ashley (ashleylamar) I know this is an old feed but I did just join over there. I find the GR forums so cumbersome even though I love to talk books.

I agree Ashley. Facebook and Twitter make it much easier to have real-time conversations!

Ashley (ashleylamar) Jenny wrote: "I agree Ashley. Facebook and Twitter make it much easier to have real-time conversations!" The GR forums are so jumbled and it's hard to tell if someone is replying to you or just posting a new comment. I love chatting w/ everyone but these forums aren't very well-designed.
