What exactly do you mean by being read on a certain date? do you mean that we sit together and read it or read it in advance and sit together to discuss it like in other book clubs? Pardon me but buddy reads' is a new expression for me.

it's to read a book at the same time then discuss it ,whether as a whole or chapter by chapter

I'm totally in :) I already have A Tale of Two Cities and will be more than happy to re-read it. However, can we discuss it say at the beginning of March (we can agree on an exact date latter)

I'll start reading it tomorrow and I'd love to discuss it with you after reading it (on the 1st of March I think)
but I have to tell you that the copy I have is a simlified one so we'll have to discuss it as a whole not chapter by chapter .ok?
