There have been quite a few films adapted from this book into film.
The most recent one released in 2011:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1509767/?...
One from 1993:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108333/?...
A 1973 adaption:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072281/?...
And quite a few more listed here:
http://www.imdb.com/find?ref_=nv_sr_f...
I'd love to hear people's opinions especially if you've watched more than one.
I wonder why this book has been reproduced so many times. It must be a great story!
