Rosemary | 3978 comments For your suggestions of books featuring people engaged in athletics (running, jumping, pole vaulting, or throwing javelin, hammer, discus, or shot put). Any book where somebody runs will work, so this shouldn't be a difficult one!

Joanna (walker) | 1981 comments Just came across running in my current read: The Golden Spoon by Jessa Maxwell

One of the characters goes out for a run. Enjoyed the book -- light and funny with a cool baking competition setting.

I meant to include them all. Running and jumping cover a lot. I will add hammer throw and pole vault. Did you think anything else was missed?

Valerie Brown | 3090 comments I think that covers it. I just happened to read a short story that involved a pole vault(er), which is why I asked. :)
