Ideally, I would like to go over 70 but here's hoping that I'd be able to read at least these many books!

Book 3: Romancing Mr Bridgerton by Julia Quinn
Month: January
Really loved Penelope in the Netflix show Bridgerton. Sort of disappointed to know that the book portrays her as a variant of Elizabeth Bennet without as much conviction. I hoped that Penelope would represent a plus-size woman in fiction but was sorely let down. Also, Quinn uses the same words and phrases across her novels so I felt like I was reading the same book.
Book 4: The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak
Month: January

Book 5: Luster by Raven Leilani
Month: January
I know a lot of people liked it a lot but personally, this was not for me.
I feel bad about changing my goal so early on in the challenge, but I feel it is necessary at this point. I want to read longer books and non-fiction books this year and I feel the 70 book target is preventing me from doing that. Still, I will most definitely try to read as much as I can!
Book 7: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
Month: January
Such a sweet, feel-good book. Felt as though I was living inside Christopher's head. Absolutely wonderful!
Book 8: Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa, translated by Alison Watts
Month: January
Bitter-sweet, feel-good, has Tuesdays with Morrie vibes
I'm thinking of picking up Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie this month. Anyone up for it? I don't really know if people are actually reading these stupid posts but if someone is and would like to read along with me, do shoot me a message!
Book 10: Pinjar: The Skeleton and Other Stories by Amrita Pritam, translated by Khushwant Singh
Month: February
Ehh, the stories were interesting but the translation was very poor
Book 11: Principles of Prediction by Anushka Jasraj
Month: February
Really evocative, well-written. The only problem I had was that all the characters sounded similar in their voice.
Book 12: The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
Month: February
Chitra Bannerjee Divakaruni's Palace of Illusions is a beautifully written, re-working of the Mahabharata from the perspective of Panchaali, wife to the Pandavas.
