Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Hello all... Nominating time again! Please nominate your choices for General Fantasy, and as always, please remember title and author, as well as a brief explanation for your choice.

Nominating will end on August 12th. :)

Laurel What about Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson? I know that many of us love his work, its a stand alone, and new enough that many may have not read it yet. I think it would instigate some great discussion.

Janny (jannywurts) | 807 comments Flesh and Spirit by Carol Berg - gorgeously written, completely original, full of great twists and surprises, incredibly well drawn characters.

And the duology is finished, so no waiting to see how she wraps everything up.

I loved this book.

Tiffany (lovn_mr_darcy) Shapechangers by Jennifer Roberson. A great storyline! Many people havent heard of it and i think it is a great book for fantasy readers. My personal favorite series. Im just nominating the first book.

Fox (foxmists) | 218 comments Have we discussed Guy Gavriel Kay yet? If not, I wouldn't mind attempting one of his. How about Tigana? I hear a lot of good things about it.

message 8: by Chris (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments I'm nominating The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie once more. I figure it is due to win....I've heard lots of great things about these and I have the first book, so I need a little push to crack the spine and dive in...

The Blade Itself (The First Law Book One) by Joe Abercrombie

message 13: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) http://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/21... - You can also go to the "polls" section and it should be right up top, or scroll to the bottom of the group homepage, since I made it a featured poll.

message 14: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Well... I'm not sure how many times this book has been in the poll and lost, but this time was the charm I think.

The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie has FINALLY won! (I feel a splurge coming this weekend!)

message 15: by Chris (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments Seriously? Congrats, Blade...it's been a long time coming. You finally won that Oscar....
