Oh my gosh, I cannot wait for all of these books! And isn't the cover of Infinite Sky AMAZING?

Elaine (ofdustandstarlight) I just got approved for Dance of Shadows (Dance of Shadows, #1) by Yelena Black on netgalley but I'm regretting it now...

Why are you regretting it Elaine?

message 10: by Jessica | (new)

Jessica | Crowned By The Sea (crownedbythesea) Pantomime looks pretty good, I don't have an ARC for it though, so I'll have to wait til next month. I just got approved for Dance of Shadows from Netgalley, I didn't read the description, the cover is really pretty though.

Reviews on GR and the fact that it's "...from the creators of Lauren Kate’s Fallen." makes me very scared.

Richa (cityofbooks) | 15 comments I've got ARCs of Pantomime by Laura Lam and Infinite Sky by C.J. Flood . Can't wait to read them!

message 13: by Angie (new)

Angie (pinkindle) I just finished Pantomime by Laura Lam and absolutely LOVED the concept and the themes, but felt like the story was really slow and boring.

Oh no, I had this one on my list too. Still looking forward to reading it, but sorry to hear it was slow!

I won't say much about DANCE OF SHADOWS but um. I didn't like it, at all. I'm going to write my review today and it's just...it was really, really bad. :(

Cristal (Professional Book Procrastinator) I'm sorry to hear that Molli. Now I'm not looking forward to reading it...

Molli Moran (molliwrites) Cristal wrote: "I'm sorry to hear that Molli. Now I'm not looking forward to reading it..."

It started out good, then...meh. You know, it was that book I was really wanting to like, but didn't. But you know what - you might! I say give it a try, if you can get it from NetGalley/etc!

Cristal (Professional Book Procrastinator) Thanks Molli, I'll keep my fingers crossed when I read it...hopefully I will like it.

Light Messages Publishing (lmpublishing) | 1 comments Fans of Young Adult fantasy, Celtic myths, or books like Percy Jackson, The Olympians, and Trylle, will LOVE The Obsidian Dagger (Celtic Mythos, #1) by Brad LaMar by debut Brad LaMar.

Check out the Goodreads giveaway going on until February 10. The paperback and e-book editions will be for sale February 20.

Group moderators and reviewers can request a galley copy from NetGalley: https://www.netgalley.com/widget/open...

That one looks good.

message 23: by Molli (new)

Molli Moran (molliwrites) Oh, Reece Malcom! I really want to read that one. I requested it on NetGalley but was rejected. :(

Ugh, I wish I could lend it to you. I won't be reading it soon.

message 25: by Molli (new)

Molli Moran (molliwrites) I know. It was surprising, because I'm auto-approved for several publishers, and usually get (*cringes because this is going to sound like bragging* *swears it isn't*) most galleys I request. I think Entangled Teen must just only give access to a very few e-galleys. I remember when I wanted to read Inbetween, I was just lucky enough to win an e-galley.

message 26: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) Entangled is picky about who they approve on NetGalley and I think they do cut off approvals after around 50.

That's what I was thinking. I remember when I got...Obsidian, I think, they announced there would only be 50 galleys, and I just happened to be stalking *Twitter at that time so I went right to NG. lol

*Who am I kidding, I'm ALWAYS stalking Twitter.

Paige Bradish (thebookworm1996) I'm so excited! I got a couple of February Debuts from net galley :) Like Notes from Ghost Town by Kate Ellison and Also Known As by Robin Benway

Those aren't debuts, as both authors have previously published YA books.

message 30: by Caitlin (new)

I have it, but haven't read it yet. It seems really good though!

message 32: by Jess (new)

Jess Would you consider The Different Girl by Gordon Dahlquist a debut for the purpose of the challenge since the rest of his novels are adult?

ALSO KNOWN AS is really, really good! :)

Angie (pinkindle) Jessica wrote: "Would you consider The Different Girl by Gordon Dahlquist a debut for the purpose of the challenge since the rest of his novels are adult?"

Yes, that would make it YA debut. It looks like Tara has it on her 2013-debut shelf, so I added it to the group shelf. :)

message 35: by Angie (new)

Angie (pinkindle) The Reece Malcolm List by Amy Spalding was really good, so I definitely recommend it!

I just posted my review for Dance of Shadows and... I didn't think it was exceptionally good, though I love the whole ballet + mystery atmosphere! :D

Neither of those novels are debuts; both authors have released YA novels previously (The Butterfly Clues and Audrey, Wait!, respectively).

also, is Marilynn Halas' "Play On" part of the official list yet? She has written other books, but they are all picture books.
