This was my first graphic novel. It was fairly good, but most definitely targets teens. It contains some pretty good, empowering messages, such as, Nothing can hurt you if you don't let it. Just speak up. Speak your truth. You'll get the held you need.

I have had this on my TBR forever, it seems. The original I mean. Must get to it. I once wrote a song for my son with the line, "Find your truth and speak it."

Good for you, Jodi, trying graphic novels! I've always gifted my grandchildren with books for their birthdays and Christmas, and lately, have come to realize they enjoy graphic novels.

As you can imagine, they're written for young people, so it's unlikely I'll find one interesting enough to buy it. But if graphic novels get young people reading, then fantastic!!
