Hayden Holmes is a character I was dying to read about. He did not disappoint! Unfortunately, this book had something I hate in it and I really struggled with the last half. I loved the beginning and would love to be able to rate it higher, but I just can’t. Meghan Quinn is an amazing writer and her stories always make me laugh. This story had some giggles, but a little more of a serious one.
We meet Hayden Holmes in ‘Three Blind Dates’, but this can be read as a stand-alone. In fact, some of the book takes place before ‘Three Blind Dates’ and that part of the book was my favorite. Hayden is a successful hockey player taking a break when he meets Adalyn. Hayden is an amazing hero. He is seriously a great guy. And when he finds himself smitten with Adalyn, he’s all in. And she feels the same. Everything is going perfect and I’m happy as a clam.
Then Adalyn gets pregnant. At the same time Hayden gets traded across country. It’s a lot for any couple to handle, but of course this heroine thinks it’s best (view spoiler) . It’s a topic that really works me up. I ended up disliking her for most of the book, because of that, and a way she treated another male friend that was obviously into her. It’s so hard for me to love a book when I dislike one of the main characters. Honestly, it’s a good thing I loved Hayden so much or this would have been rated even lower.
Obviously, this is just my opinion. As I said earlier, this is a huge peeve for me personally. Most of my friends loved this book, so it could just be me. I do love the other books in this series and Hayden is amazing so read at your own risk! ;)

I know one thing for sure, he's ruining me for all other men. Because I'm pretty sure he's the exception.

Right! I just don't get it!

Urgh.... nothing like a pet peeve to ruin an otherwise perfectly good book. For me, it's the 'insta-love.' I read romance for the build up, the tension, the obstacles that one must overcome in the name of all that is schmexy and brooding. So if the guy (or girl) instantly surrender to gushy declatations of debotion, soul-mateship and desire... I'm totally peeved. (Gushy declarations can give me toothache as it is, but without any build up? Well, Im like a blow fly in a pickle bottle! - Aussie slang for "Get me outta here!!!") ;)
Loved reading about your pet peeve but am also sorry it was a bumb-read in the end. Hope you get to finish off the year with a winner! x

I completely agree with this! I loved her in the beginning but the second she got pregnant she turned into the worst character. She was such a bitch to Hayden when all he was trying to do was be in her life. Ugh so absolutely frustrating!! If it wasn’t for Hayden I would’ve rated it lower as well.

Well I'm in the middle of reading and on the part where Logan fucking moves in with her... Ugh I hate it hate it I hate it
Like I am lucky I don't have a paperback for I'd have fucking tore it in half. She's such a bitch in 2nd half. Seriously. And says it hurts her about noely. Stupid fuck. I hate her. I hate logan
Bloody asshole.
Hayden should've definitely ended with noely. She was way too fun and way too awesome! Hayden and her were my only favorite

I’m glad I read your review. That is also a huge pet peeve of mine so you saved me reading this book and being angry as well.
Agree I really didn't like the h, she just infuriated me. I cannot stand her, she's morphed from a sweet girl into a super bitch.
Ruined the book. Hayden needed to grow some balls and she needed to grow up.
Seriously annoyed with this book tbh.

I kept reading about Adalyn's, struggle with how she was alone. I kept reading every single attempt Hayden made on a daily basis to show love and support. I must have missed something. This woman was so irritating. I completely disliked her after getting pregnant. There was absolutely no reason for attitude and pain she causes Hayden. And do not get me started on her relationship with Logan. The man who called her a mistake.
....he moved in? Why move across the country to be near Hayden but allow another man to move in? I don't know if she ever put Logan in check because I couldn't stomach finishing the book.
