Just don't know if I'm gonna read this one or not. For me, this series has lost a lot of its momentum with the release dates being so drawn out. Originally I thought it would be a trilogy and the story got dragged out over several more releases and it's kind of lost it's sparkle.

I have to add that I did love the first couple of books and may well need to restart the series to fully enjoy this one. It feels like years go by and we don't have a new Crossfire book!

Aseel the same for me
is there a 5th book?
since a movie is going to be made soon
maybe it should get an end

~Stéphanie~ I'm with you Becs! I'll read the 4th because of Gideon but I'm not sure it's worth it :/

message 3: by Assenette (new)

Assenette I feel the same too. I lost interest in this series after I read book 3.

message 4: by Lacy (new)

Lacy Words we love by Same here ! But I will read it though because of Cary :)

message 5: by MrsSkarsgaard (new)

MrsSkarsgaard Agree! I was lost at the end of book two....

message 6: by Jennifer (new) - added it

Jennifer I feel the same way. Part of me wants to wait for the 5th book before I continue on, but I'm afraid of spoilers between now and then.

message 7: by Theresa (new)

Theresa I totally agree. Really loved the first two and was real good. I've no desire to read 4th book. I mean it's been what year??

message 8: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Bangert I also agree...It's been so long I can't remember what's going on anymore. Wasn't really excited that another one was coming out like I was with the first three books.

message 9: by Kady (new) - added it

Kady I agree! I quit after the 2nd one - when I found out there will be 5 instead of 3. I will reread them all when the series is complete. I think I'll enjoy them more that way so I'm willing to be patient!

Angie Elle I'm of the opinion that if an author feels like they want to extend a series because they just can't tell the story in as few books as planned, that's their call. But my concern with this one (aside from the fact that this series lost it's luster with book three) is that the author tweeted something to the effect of 'thank you for your patience while I come up with plots deserving of Eva and Gideon.' If she didn't have plots in mind, why did she extend the series? Grrr!

message 11: by Ruth (new) - added it

Ruth Totally agree...

message 12: by Mel (new)

Mel B I won't read anymore of this series. I'm done.

Georgia That is so true.I actually re-read the series back in August so I still have it fresh in my mind.Although I am not as excited as I expected myshelf to be.I most definitely enjoyed the first three books though.

message 14: by Rachel (new) - added it

Rachel I totally agree. It's been so long between releases that I don't have that urgent need to read this. I was totally turned off that this turned into 5 books and not three. I think I'll wait until the last book to finish up.

message 15: by Mish (new)

Mish I so agree with you

True Loveislovereview Feel the same way.
I was angry that part three ended with no end. It was respectless to the readers
It should be a trilogy.
But.... I gonna read it anyway. I was a good read

True Loveislovereview OMG not a 5th!!!

Georgia I most definitely will read it,but I'm not sure when.Obviously I can't read the whole trilogy again.I have so many books to read,so I this one runs pretty low down the scale. And a 5th one?Seriously? This was supposed to be a trilogy. What happened?

message 19: by ~ Becs ~ (new) - added it

~ Becs ~ Yeah - couldn't agree with you all more. I think there is a certain amount of commercialism at play here - probably not the author's choice but rather the publisher who quite possibly see her as a big bucks pull for the readers. This is arguably the most popular series after Fifty after all.

I think the author intended a trilogy but the publisher pushed her further.

I loved the first couple but when you read as much as we all do, hundreds of books go by inbetween Crossfire instalments and, quite frankly, it's not THAT great that it stands out for that long. I would definitely need a refresher read but who knows when book 5 will get released - it's not even got a title yet.

I think I may well save these for when the series is complete and then binge read them all but then again, maybe not.

Georgia I will propably do that too.I cannot wait so long for the 5th book to come out.It may even come out in 2 years,I can't wait that long!Although if the TV series is to be released in the near future,I most definitely will re-read the whole series.

message 21: by Becky (new) - added it

Becky I both read and listened on CDs to all 3 books. Read these comments and thought "who is Cary?" Only name I remember is Gideon Cross.

Spot on! Looks like Sylvia is just stretching the plot and just being redundant. She should have finished this series on the third book.

message 23: by Khaleesi (last edited Nov 18, 2014 08:41PM) (new)

Khaleesi I feel the same. The story is so one dimensional that it does not warrant 5 books, even 3 was pushing but get money I guess.

message 24: by Sandra (new)

Sandra totally agree with you this series should have finished on the third book at most.

message 25: by Lindsey (new) - added it

Lindsey Tienhaara I went ahead and got it today. It's been so long that I figured I better start with the first book. I was sad to figure out that I bought the first book in paperback and now I can't find it. It has been so long that I can't even remember the last time I bought a paperback. I really don't want to buy it again. Oh well, I hope I'm not disappointed. I loved the first two books but the third just seemed to drag and I had a hard time finishing it.

message 28: by Mish (new)

Mish please tell there will not be a movie it so not worth it cause the last book was a filler I bought first three in paper back not worth my third time around she lost me trying to keep up with fifty shades of grey hot flash she got burn

message 29: by Georgia (last edited Nov 19, 2014 04:23AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Georgia Actually it has been said that the Crossfire will come out eventually as a Tv series, which sounds pretty awesome to me.I propably won't even begin the 4th book until the 5th one comes out.I will propably be left filled with anticipation until the 5th one.'Captivated by you' took almost 2 years to come out so the 5th will take a VERY longgggg time.

message 30: by Tishika (new)

Tishika I've decided to just wait for the series to be complete.

message 31: by ~ Becs ~ (new) - added it

~ Becs ~ Yeah - I did really enjoy the beginning of this series but I'm not going to reread now only to wait another couple of years for the fifth book.

It's on hiatus until the series is done :)

message 32: by Tanya (new) - added it

Tanya Witt I stopped reading them until they are all released so I understand. I tell ya when picked up by a publisher things certainly do change and not for the better in some cases.

message 33: by Lisa (new) - rated it 1 star

Lisa I too loved the first 2 books, 3 was just a filler for me. CBY book 4 is awful and I don't understand how some people love it, there's no real story just sex filling more than half the book, if that's what you're looking for than it's the book for you. I am very sorry I didn't wait for book 5 One With You to be released yet before reading 4. The wait of almost 18 months for CBY would've been fine if the author was honest and not surround so many contradictions around it. Who knows how long 5 will be out, we went from a few weeks after 4 to I think now is 6 months so really it could be longer. Very frustrating and disappointing because Sylvia has such excellent writing skills.

message 34: by ~ Becs ~ (new) - added it

~ Becs ~ Yeah - it's a good series ruined by the greed of the publisher I think.

message 35: by Lisa (new) - rated it 1 star

Lisa Nope not the publisher, it's the author. Only the author decides to add more books. This is all on Day. I tried to ask her on FB if the introduction to the new characters/storylines is for the purpose of the T.V. Series but she didn't respond. I really had a very hard time believing CBY was that bad because Sylvia has such great writing skills/talent. I was shocked, I read it three times to see if I missed something. There was just too many grey areas, so much unresolved and way too much sex, no real plot and Gideon lost his Alpha Male appeal in my opinion.

Kathleen I understand completely. I reread each book before a new one came out. OH, I'm still going to read Captivated by You, but I'm NOT rereading anything this time. I hope everything comes back to me as I read.

message 37: by Lisa (new) - rated it 1 star

Lisa Depending on how you felt about 3 EWY I would wait until OWY comes out before reading CBY. For me EWY was just a filler and 4 really there are no words...

Georgia I also thought about that too.I actually reread "Crossfire" back in August,so it could all come back to me while reading CBY.I am a little bit tempted thought because I read a couple of nice reviews so I am not really sure what to do.I personally am a huge fan of the series and knowing its out and I still have not read it,it is killing me.Kind of...

message 39: by Lisa (new) - rated it 1 star

Lisa Georgia, If you see yourself as having the same feelings as the posts that state why they love it, then you should read it. If you didn't find EWY as a filler then chances are you will like it. You have to know what you're comfortable with, what I may not think is a good book you may say you love it and it's great. We can all agree to disagree :). I respect your opinion either way!

message 40: by Tony (new) - rated it 4 stars

Tony Sooo. I wasn't sure either, but I read and enjoyed more than #3.
A 4**** read for me.

message 41: by Diana (new) - added it

Diana That is exactly how I feel!

message 42: by Lisa (new) - rated it 1 star

Lisa Can I ask you Tony and Diana what made you love CBY?

Angie Elle I caved and read it. I miss Gideon and Eva from the first two books and couldn't resist. While the plot was incredibly thin, I do think there were some important events in this book that have the potential to set us up for an explosive final installment.

Diana Lisa wrote: "Can I ask you Tony and Diana what made you love CBY?"

I don't love Capitvated by You because I haven't read it yet. I was expressing my agreement with Bec's review. I pre-ordered the book, but I'm holding off on reading it because I want to wait until the final book. It's been over a year since the last book, and I feel like I need to reread all of the books to get back into that world. Also, I don't want to read it and then have to go through the whole process all over again when book 5 comes out. This whole drawn out release thing is ridiculous!

Lisa.
I do love Sylvia's writing. The Crossfire series does seem somewhat unnecessicarily elongated, however, the woman sure can tell a story with plenty of Smuttertainment along the way.
Here's my review: it's spoiler free:

message 46: by Lisa (new) - rated it 1 star

Lisa Thank you for responding. No need for spoiler alert I've read CBY more than once. I was just curious as to what makes so many love this book. Honestly, Day is extremely talented, her writing skill is off the charts however, I just found it to not have a real plot. It's the first book in Crossfire where I was taking breaks while reading.

Georgia Now I am seriously thinking about starting it.I mean you cannot wait to read CBY when you know it is already out. What do you guys think about it?I personally love the series and I do not want to get disappointed by CBY.

Nikki Sex I hear ya! I loved the first two. I think it must be hard to keep something like that going. There are lots of "I refuse to talk to you" moments and that always seems so childish for adults to do. But hey, how else to keep the drama up? Lots of sex though LOL!

Angela C don't read it. not worth it.

Kristal Taylor I totally agree. I don't like to have to re-read the previous book. I feel that way about the Fever Series I think I've been waiting two years for that to come out. All I've seen is advertisements on Facebook. :(
