Ender's Shadow (Shadow, #1)

Ender's Game is fantastic, and Ender's Shadow lets you see another side of the final fight.
The book, for me, was hard to muscle through. Bean is brutal in his way of dealing with people--analytical, scrutinizing, and calculating, he doesn't let anyone close until deep into the book. However, once the orphan from Rotterdam begins to open up, the story begins moving at a fast, satisfying pace.
