“Let the rest of the players think I’m dealing with daddy issues. Hawthornes have granddaddy issues instead.”

First of all, Grayson deserves better and second of all, if you really pay attention to the things Tobias Hawthorne told the boys...no wonder they're all a little bit messed up. Anyways, this book made me SO ANNOYED at times. Especially with Avery. Now, I am an averyjameson girlie to my core. But Avery was acting SO WEIRD in the beginning of this book. Not like herself for sure. And I would know because I am an avid fan of this series. In my opinion she shouldn't have been in this book as much as she was. I said what I said.
If anyone who is reading this dnf'd this book. I just wanna say I think the ending is worth it and personally I enjoyed Grayson's storyline overall more than Jameson's. I thought his was a bit...odd to say the least. But I do like the last few chapters of his pov, it reminds me a lot of the orginal series. The averyjameson moments were SO GOOD there.
I have to say, one thing that Jennifer Lynn Barnes does well is characters. They are all very real feeling to me and I like that. (Not sure what was up with Avery in this one tho) Was this bad? No. It just didn't pull me in and keep me entertained enough to want to actually read it until I got to Grayson's chapters. I mostly skimmed through Jameson's chapters if I'm being honest....I have very low expectations for The Grandest Game but my assumption is that it'll be similar to the ending of this book which I liked, so we'll see.

I was Team Grayson in the initial trilogy, but now that Avery has made her choice I def don't want her to go changing her mind. Gray needs an HEA, though.
