4 Casey-love Stars / Val is Not a Pedophile, I Swear Stars
"I only need two things for my safe house. One of them hangs from your right shoulder, and the other one hangs from your left shoulder.”
I really, really liked this.
Because it featured a few things that really I love.
1) The Man Lovin'...Obviously
Love.
It.
2) The Age Gap
I loooooooove age gaps.
LOVE THEM.
I don't even care if one of the characters is under age.
That's right, I said it.
Because I am shameless, bitchy and skanky?
Maybe.
But more importantly...
Because it's fucking FICTION, people.
And because I am NOT the Morality Police.
Now, this scenario does not apply here, as neither Lon nor Casey are underage, but I'm just saying.
Now, I'm NOT suggesting I want to read about a grown ass man and a 12 year old.
Because that would be CHILD PORN.
So put your lynch devices down.
I'm saying the occasional 17 year old doesn't make me pull out my figurative GR pulpit and soap box ya'll to fucking death.
But anytocatchapredator, moving on.
3) One Character Protects the Other
Whoops, wrong movie.
But still.
Le sigh.
Anyswoon, as the title suggests, Lon makes Casey feel protected and safe enough to face his demons head on.
A few times in the book, Casey runs to Lon and clings to him - literally - because it makes him feel safe.
And I always love this trope.
It gives this cold little soul the warm and fuzzies.
Something else I enjoyed about this book?
All the fun stuff I learned about Australia.
I will definitely read more from this author.

Yup, age gap gets me every damn time. Glad you enjoyed it! (P.S. Tried to listen to the audiobook but the narrator didn't have an Aussie accent-or at least I couldn't make one out in the 5 minute sample. Wrong accent totally threw me)
Damn that shower kiss photo is hot. You have me intrigued plus the setting is in Perth, love them Aussie boys.

Yeah I heard from another friend that it was a little "Americanized."

Oh I LOVE that photo. I would use it in every review! And you should give it a try! (The book not the shower. Although jump on that of you have the chance too.)

AWESOME review my Sweet!!! God I love your humor..I know I have told you this before but I am telling you again! LOL I just love that you state you are not the morality police!! Me neither girlfriend, and I read to escape and enjoy all sorts of different things that I may not enjoy in my REAL life! I really liked that you said that and just had to point it out! You go girlfriend, and you have a fan in me! MWAH!♥♥

Awww thanks Jen! I appreciate your comment. Some people get bent out of shape about that stuff. Like, "he was so controlling it was unhealthy" and blah blah blah. Yeah, but it's fiction. In real life, sure I'd be like "let me help you call the domestic violence abuse hotline" but I like weird shit when I know it's FAKE. I totally get people not loving reading about underage characters when they have kids that age or if they just don't like it. But from a morality standpoint, for me it's fiction, not the 5 o'clock news ya know!
