City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3)

I had begun reading this laying down and drinking the words in steadily but before I knew it I was sitting on the edge of the sofa and forcing to keep up my eyes focused enough not to move too far ahead. I promised myself I wasn't going to write a spoiler review though I really wanted to. Without giving spoilers I can't stress how much a certain line did this or what took me by surprise but y'all are just going to have to read it to feel and see what I felt.
EVERYTHING is finally explained. Thank goodness! It was fun to guess along the way to see if you were right. Sometimes I was off and not entirely sure but part of the excitement is having the dawning realization of "Oh yeah!!! I can see that now!" Definitely is the best of the series and not only because of the plot and resolution, but because of the development of the characters. As far as I could see Clary grows the least but she does. She always was a little more "emotionally" in tune than the others were. The character that makes HUGE strides is Jace. He started to grow on me in the second book but I absolutely get him now. There is this one line that he says (it's cheesy but who cares) that made me totally melt. *WARNING* if you don't like moments bordering on the cheesy side you may want to read something depressing instead. All the characters we have grown attached to have grown up to be a better version of themselves. One of the most impressive ones I'd say (other than Jace) is Isabelle, which is displayed well in the conversation she has with Clary in the kitchen.
This book is charged with all the elements we are used to but make them ten fold because this is the end. Emotions, battles, loss, betrayal, surprises, and even the jokes carry that much more meaning to them. Out of all the books this one would have to be the most serious. I know that there was always the element of sudden danger, but this one is more so and we don't get to see as many sarcastic comments (which is understandable) but there are still there to ease the tension.
I want to gush and gush over everything but I had to say Valentine seemed to fit into the series finally. I always felt he wasn't a villain material but he is, and I can't say why because again a spoiler. Best way to wrap up the series and say goodbye to the Shadowhunter world.
Later note: Find out there is a fourth one! City of Fallen Angels

Don't worry Victoria I only started reading at the bookstore, but I wanted to remember what page I'm on. I'm still waiting for the book at the library. I'm number 10. I think I'll actually probably finish reading it before I actually get it:) I'll make sure to write a review on it when I'm done. So far I'm loving it!!!
I know it was so COOL and AWESOME!!! It was like it made SO much sense and that it is the way everything should work out. It's actually hard to talk conherently about it, but like you guys said it's just so great. I know lame, but that's what it is.
Awesomesauce that's a good Tori! I'm gonna have to use it some time. You are right it rocked;) Did you hear that they were making a movie? I think I might have heard wrong though...
Haha, my mom told me today how I have a strange aguage. I make weird stuff up and stuff. Its fun. :) OMG!!!! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!! I hope they do. Did you know they're making a Hunger Games movie? not until 2011 though. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1392170/

I know it would be awesome but I was looking around and it doesn't seem that the rumor is true:( TOTALLY going to watch that movie! Though for certain the book will be better. It almost always is, thanks for the link:D
ahhhhh this series is SO GOOD!
I FEEL THE SAME WAY AS YOU DO!
AND ITS SOOO ADDICTING!
I WAS DREAMING ABOUT THESE BOOKS,THINKING ABOUT THEM ALL THE TIME!
i still cant stop myself from thinking about them even after finishing them and i CANNOT WAIT FOR 'city of fallen angles' and the 'the clockwork angel' to come out!

so the next series is "The Infernal Decives"
The Clockwork Angel
The Clockwork Prince
and
The Clockwork Princess.
and the The City of Fallen Angels, comes out next year. i really wish it'd come out before The Clockwork Angel. so we can finish one series for good, then be excited for the next.

Yeah me too but I guess they want us to get hooked on all of them! I thought it was kind of weird too but we just have to wait eons (sp?) for the the 4th book.
*big sigh*

i heard there is going to be a movie, which really sucks because mhen they make a movie for a book the director always twist the book and make the movie nothing like the books.
Yeah it looks like it could really happen. Clare gave the go ahead for a movie studio to do it. I would like to see a movie made of these books. I just won't bring my hopes up and let the movie stand alone.
Cant agree more, i let my hopes up for the twilight movies and in my opinion they turned out not good at all.
the studio is doing a horriable job they should have let the director who does the harry potter films do the twilight movies because he/she does a way better job
I think they have changed the directors for the HP movies too but not as much. All I know is that for the first two movies they had a director that seemed to really stick with the books but other than that I haven't really kept track. At least with the Twilight moives they aren't taking forever to be released. I'm kind of irked that they are releasing the last HP one into two parts. I don't want to pay twice to watch ONE movie! Hopefully it will be worth it:D
I have only read the first book of the series and am dying to read the other two books. as for the twilight comments, the books were alright and the movies were pretty crappy but i must say I liked the first movie best although i didnt like the acting. To the Harry Potter comments, I love the harry potter books and the first and second movie were very much the same as the books and I stongly agree with what you said :) cant wait for the last movies and cant wait to read City of Ashes and City of Glass :D
Definitely read the other two pronto! Well at least before City of Fallen Angels comes out. I know I really do want to watch the last Harry Potter movie, but knowing me I'll be one of the last people to watch it. I haven't really been keeping up to well with the Twilight movies. I've watched the first two but not the last one that came out.
best one in the serise so far! there were only certain parts that I did not like and they were ovee briefly (sometimes i think authors over-do things too much). This book almos made me cry! (Ithuriel part) I love this book and I think the author is very talented. if you liked/like this seriese I highly recommend the Infernal Devices seriese.
I know I already started and loved Clockwork Angel:D Yeah I think City of Glass is the best so far but I haven't read City of Fallen Angels yet.
i wonder who r they going to have cast as the charaters for the series. i want the guy who star n i am number four to be jace
Actually they already cast Jace:

Some guy named Jamie Campbell Bower. Never heard of him but it looks like the author is happy with him.

I totally agree with everything you said. fantastic book. gripping. cant put it down. its 3am n I'm still reading...just got to part 3. hooked...line rod and angler!!! :-)
Hey Kat I love the enthusiasm! Hope you are enjoying the rest of the series.
Thanks for your kind comment Heather:)
Thanks for your kind comment Heather:)
Cara your review was right on. Nothing I could add. I absolutely could not put this down.Glad that now there are ar least 2 more. Hope they are as good. Sometimes it is hard to keep up the intensity. I wish the movie was doing better. It looks like they may pull the plug on the second one.
Oh no! I didn't know about that. I haven't watched the movie yet, maybe I should soon. Some people loved the movie and some people didn't. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series though!

The 3rd book definitely takes a turn and explains things. Valentine seems to get more evil and Jace definitely starts showing more of his past by going back to the house. After Clary and Jace, figure out they aren't actually siblings directly it made me feel happy because it just seemed way too tragic for them to be brother and sister that were just separated. This was a good time to introduce Sebastian even though he isn't the main bad guy they're against yet.
