really liked it
bookshelves: diverse, middle-grade, read-in-2024, verse, mental-health

Read this in basically one sitting. As a southwest Chicago suburbs girlie, I got very excited when real places were mentioned (shoutout to the Annie Anne's in the Orland Mall that used to be by the Borders). I appreciated the complexity it showed within mental health- getting "better" takes a long time and isn't a straight path. We don't get a lot of eating disorder books for boys so it is nice to have another idea in your back pocket if you need that representation. Books in verse are hit or miss for me, but this one used the format in unique ways that worked for me as a reader
