Between 2.5 and 3? Ahhhh, I’m sad. 😭 I LOVED Hidden Pictures (5 stars) and was so so looking forward to this 2024 release. My expectations were all wrong, sadly. Hidden Pictures was thrilling with some horror vibes that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book; I went into this one expecting it to at least be thrilling (it DEFINITELY should not be marketed as horror in any sense) but it was hardly even suspenseful, really. Started out strong, but quickly became very slow burn - the action didn’t pick up until the last third/quarter-ish of the book. There was one big shock (which redeemed some of it 🙌🏼), but the rest was pretty predictable, and the ending was very “meh.” After the event that DID shock me, I expected things to get crazier, but they didn’t…. Everything kind of just fizzled out. 🥲
Darn. Can’t say I recommend this one, but I know some have loved it, so I encourage you to give it a shot if you like slow burns.

Emily Completely agree, an unnecessary time jump really left the ending something to be desired.

Jess I loved it until the ending had me like ummm what. I don’t get it
