the art is amazing, the concept of the confetti realms is SO good, i just...hated the human characters so much hahaha. i get the reasoning of wanting to portray messy queer teen relationships and emotions, which i love, and i think a lot of people in that age group could find this story relatable and comforting. for me though, i just found the constant focus on relationship issues and the all-consuming emotions to be tiring? when what i REALLY wanted to see was more of the fantasy world around them!! the raven/cat lesbian relationship!! the swindling poker-playing thieving frog!! whatever the hell was going on with that weird puppet man!! and the constantly renewing world with teeth as the primary currency.... that's such a SICK concept and i would've really loved it if the story explored that more. overall i think it's worth a read even if just for the worldbuilding and the lovely art, but i think a lot more could've been done with the plot to make it a stronger story.
