it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, writer-friends

The Glass House explores the lives of mental-health workers and their patients. A lot of hard work has gone into this smart novel by dynamic duo Anne Buist and Graeme Simsion. The episodic structure is unusual but works well here and results in a page turner, which would adapt perfectly to a compelling TV series. The novel's authenticity comes from Buist’s three decades of clinical and research experience in psychiatry. Simsion’s humour-writing skills add just the right amount of levity to what could have otherwise been overly heavy subject matter.
