This averaged at 3 stars for me because for most of the book I was thinking definite four stars, however the final few chapters and Violet's behaviour after graduation dropped it to 2 stars. The storoy is amusing as are Vi & Ryn's interactions and I really like Violet's character and how she handles her growing feelings for Ryn. I loved the action, the final assignment and the visit to the Seelie court. I also loved the development of Ryn & Violet's relationship. Especially the things Ryn does to make up for his treatment of Violet since Reed died. What let the book down for me was (view spoiler)[ Violet's decision to correspond with and perform tasks for an anonymous contact from Zell's court without mentioning it to anyone. She was the best trainee and is now a fully fledged Guardian. Presumably this means she is actually good at her job. This decision might have worked if she was still a trainee but I was really disappointed she makes it at this point in her life. Then there was the fact that she is responsible for the magical bomb, Tora's death and then the inexplicable note from Ryn saying not to look for him even though he spent ages convincing Vi he would never leave her again. I understand all this had to happen or taking the forget potion wouldn't be believable but was disappointed all the same. Then there was the forget potion itself. Remember this was initially supposed to be given to Nate so he would forget he had seen Vi and the fairy world, I presume it was not supposed to make him forget every detail of his life as that would seem inefficient and raise a lot of questions. Therefore the fact that it seems to have had this effect on Vi (she struggled to remember her NAME) is ridiculous.(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]
