I absolutely loved it. This is an essential companion to Ender's Game. I thoroughly enjoyed the character Bean; in an interesting way I felt that Bean was more relatable. This book had a similar tone and pace as the first book while maintaining it's own unique character and voice, undoubtably bolstered by the many years between the two books being written. In Ender's Game I REALLY enjoyed the side story of Peter and Valentine's ambitions and in this story I also REALLY enjoyed the portion about Bean surviving on the streets and Sister Carlotta's search for Bean's roots; they were both great additions and breaks from the intensity in the battle school. Again, I highly recommend this book to anybody who has read and may have enjoyed Ender's Game. I intend to keep this book on my shelf right next to Ender's Game and to return to each frequently.
