It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read a no plot just vibes book and I found it quite enjoyable. I don’t have too much to say about this book. I don’t feel like I gained much from it. It didn’t have any commentary that really made me pause and think, but Emma Cline’s prose is wonderful and very enjoyable to read. For most of the book I thought I would give it four stars for that enjoyability, but I had to bring it down for the ending. Nothing is resolved. I’m already not a fan of open endings, but this was worse than that, there truly was no sense of resolution at all, it just ended. I love Emma Cline’s prose and I really liked her other book, The Girls. I also really enjoyed most of this one! So I would still definitely be interested in reading more from her. Unfortunately this ending just really disappointed me.
