did not like it

It is amazing the impact a global pandemic has on a persons thinking, likes, dislikes, etc. as it relates to what is the preferred method of entertainment. For me - reading is paramount, of course. And this may not have sucked last year - when I was a bit more optimistic about the light at the end of the tunnel of this daggone pandemic...but...not feeling that way anymore.

That said - not only was this extremely slow, but that damn Milena. Man - she plucks a nerve I do not have today. Whining, pitiful and extremely powerful? Yeah right. I get that she was not the MC here, but gosh - I felt like I had to "stomach" her and that was...whew...How is it possible that a women can be a pitiful, whiny ass Lois Lane type(the absolute UTLIMATE damsel in destress that I would not mind killing...slowly), busybody nosey as Karen, smart as Diana Prince and strong as Xena at the same time? Anyway, I digress. That said, suffering through that slow, murky Louisiana swamp like start and enduring Milena was so overwhelming - that Chaos and his girl were buried too far in the story to enjoy. Unfortunate, because they had potential.

Anywhoo! I have a variant to dodge and most importantly - a global pandemic to navigate.

34.0% "Gosh, this is a hard read. Entirely too much, absolutely, ridiculously unnecessary, almost flowery inner dialogue, commentary, and history (that makes no sense). Get that? I keep hearing Richard Pryor tell the joke where his dad fusses while at the cemetery when they buried his mom on the coldest day ever in Peoria, Illinos saying, "Get to the part about da dirt! It's cold out here dammit!""
