really liked it

Gorgeous paintings of forest. Sad story of losing cherished land. The Rands tell stories from life, with all the messiness that entails. They are not in fashion these days judging by library circulation, which favors shorter, cheerier texts. But I'm glad to read them and share them with my children for all the experiences that life offers.
