We found this at the library by chance, picking it up because we love Cornelia Funke, and Maren hogged it once we got home. She giggled through it, kept telling me how much I would love it, and then repeatedly asked me when I was going to start it.

The first real book recommendation from my daughter! Heart all aflutter here.
