really liked it

** spoiler alert ** This was ... conflicting. Very disturbing, very gory and VERY wordy, but ultimately, it kept me reading through the night. Maybe I’m into the “lowest common denominator” as one of the one-star reviewers said. Dunno. Don’t care. I cringed more times than I could count, but I kept reading. The one thing that was slightly annoying was how preternaturally tough and powerful the Birdman was — not only does he commit unspeakable crimes, but when surrounded, he attacks and kills one of the police officers who is bigger and stronger than he is. Not quite as ridiculous as the Saul Black’s The Killing Lessons where the serial killer TAKES OUT A FUCKING HELICOPTER, but similar vibe. Still, I enjoyed it. I wonder what it says about me.
