Dilan 1990 novels will be considered only teenage novels that prioritize romance stories for some people who have not read them. This book is about a flashback of Milea in 1990. Milea is a high school teenager who has moved from Jakarta to Bandung. Milea has life as well as a high school teenager in general. Everything changed when he met his new friend named Dilan. The story rolled full of excitement and surprise. Dilan has every means to make himself happy. From this acquaintanceship, Milea can see the figure of Dilan from a different side - not Dilan as a troublemaker at her school. Milea also had the opportunity to meet the unique Dilan family and get to know Mother Dilan more closely.
The story idea presented by this novel is fairly simple namely the romance of high school kids. But Pidi Baid makes the story more interesting with humorous and romantic conversations between the characters in the story. In terms of the plot, place, time structure, and depiction of the atmosphere in this novel as if it were real so that readers who were not born in the 90s can still understand and be carried away in the images written in this novel. Regarding the problem in his day, it looked realistic, so it was not an exaggeration, but yes, it was a romance in the past. That way, readers will enter Milea's perspective to see the figure of a nosy, brave, merciful, and loyal with his friend. Unfortunately, the Dilan 1990 novel lacks climax. The reader wonders where the conflict and the climax of the story are. The plot tends to be flat and does not make the reader tense. If you like high school love stories first, of course, the Dilan 1990 novel will be the right reading. The element of humor in every conversation will keep you entertained and not bored.
