What an interesting and fantastical story by Katie Cross. This book picks right off after the events of Flame continuing the story of the 2 powerful sisters, Isadora and Sanna. Get lost in this fantastical world of magic, dragons and gods that have plans of their own.

I loved watching both sisters find themselves and learn their capabilities and powers, to see their full potential and rise to the occasion. I love how both of them are strong willed and willing to fight for what they think is right no matter what that means for them. Neither of these sisters realise what they are capable of, and through this story they grow and change into the people they always were. So there’s definitely beauty in that.

The characters are ones you can easily fall in love with and your love of them just grows in this book. My favourites still remain the same from the first book lol. Love watching Luteis and Sanna together and their bond, it’s something quite special and amusing at Times. And also love Maximillion and Isadora. Their relationship is very interesting and I love watching their firey, stubborn characters together. They are seriously perfect for one another. Maximillion I think you may have found the one person that won’t just do whatever you say. Better watch out for that Isadora lol.

I loved how the story grew within this book and watching as the story expanded and unravelled, showing new and deeper twists. I especially loved the intensity that built up towards the end. Because even though I really did enjoy this story and their characters at times I did find myself not 100% immersed within the story which I missed; it wasn’t til at least I was halfway through the book that my attention clicked in a bit more. I’m not sure why but at times it just couldn’t hold my attention. This could though have a huge lot to do with the fact my chronic illness has been at its worse and reading has been very hard. So it could just be me.

I think a lot of young adult readers that love stories of dragons and magic would really enjoy this series. I’m curious where the 2 sisters story will go next and explore more of their newfound power/abilities.
