This one really brought it back after that snoozefest of a second book, and overall I'm really glad I read the series. It's utterly compelling, disturbing, creepy, nihilist, and has a way of describing the seemingly indescribable. Is it completely satisfying in the end? Not really. Did I expect it to be? Also not really. I'm not going to get into spoiler territory, so I'll just say that the end is pretty much exactly in line with the entire rest of the series up til that point. Even though it left me with questions, I know that this is one I'll be thinking about for a long time (in a good way).
