This one was good, but the second one is kinda bad or at least disappointing

Probably not worth the hype, but I liked the idea of it a lot and I did end up reading book two as well
I haven't read this but Tess of the Road (not a direct sequel but a companion) was really good - I've heard people who didn't love this did really love that one.

So there's Seraphina and the Black cloak by Robert Beatty as well as this Seraphina by Rachel Hartman? Seems rather odd, no?
