Tucker, what exactly turned you off from The Binding?What did you think of Nix’s Abhorsen Series? What did you think about Wexler’s Forbidden Library Series? They are among my favourite series & really show love of literature that revelled Inkheart.
If this novel asks to come home with you: SAY NO! It will save both of you a lot of pain.
ha! it hasn't followed me home yet because i am trying to be better about *not* buying hardcovers, but i still look at it in stores. should i stop encouraging it?

I enjoyed the first half of the novel, though the main character was a bit too "sullen teenageboy" for my taste. The second half felt like YA and all characters were flat and unconvincing.
