Worth reading for those who have read the novels at least once and are curious about, for example, what the type of carriage a family uses says about their social and economic standing or what type of bonnet a lady would wear in town, in the country or in London society. Lots of the information presented is commonplace and would be generally known by avid readers of Austen--the place of the Navy and naval officers in the social order or the different ranks of nobility on might encounter during the season.
