Cheated a little bit with this book, since I had to speed-read it for one of my classes. Antelme writes about one of the most desperate and horrendous moments of humanity and how he -barely- survived it. His language is simple and bold and requires nothing more; this book is not artistic and creative in terms of linguistic skills, but it's the pure documentation of a man that did not lose the battle.
