it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-fiction, juvenile

Fifth in the series by Erdrich, this book continues the story of the generations of one family of Ahnishinabe Indians. They hunt buffalo on the plains and are pushed westward as the land grab and broken treaties of the white settlers impact their lives. I began this series when I was teaching elementary school and have enjoyed following it as Erdrich continues writing. I highly recommend the series for both children and their parents to read and discuss together.
