Not my favorite. I was bored for most of the book and just didn’t get into the enemies-to-lovers trope for these two. No chemistry for me. But it was Not my favorite. I was bored for most of the book and just didn’t get into the enemies-to-lovers trope for these two. No chemistry for me. But it was enjoyable to be back in this world even without Kate and Curran. It makes me want to go back and read the last few books in that series. ...more

I love how Eve and Roarke's relationship is progressing, and I especially love the side characters. Mavis is back screeching her music, Peabody is quick witted, and Feeney is lovable as always. There was a nice red herring for the whodunit, and a very quick wrap up. Looking forward to continuing!...more

In the first book I didn't really understand the future setting, but now it's really clicking for me. The world is becoming more clear and I really enjoy the nonchalant way the characters interact with the technology. The author gives us the room to figure it out for ourselves.
Eve Dallas is such an intriguing character and I love her flaws and inner demons. Her relationship with Roarke has developed nicely and I'm curious to see where it goes from here and how the series will develop.
This installment's killer was maybe a bit obvious, and somewhat boring. I thought the first book's mystery was more complicated and therefore more fun for me to try and unravel. I did appreciate how this story brought Nadine and Eve together and I hope we see more of that working relationship (and possibly friendship?) in more books. ...more

I felt the resolution was too quick and the journey to Rabat too long, but there were still plenty of grand action sequences aboard the airships to keep things fun. I wish I had a better sense of the war with the Libere and the current political status of the world in general. Still an intriguing setting and one I look forward to visiting again soon. ...more

I wish the demon world was a little better explained. I wish there was more action. I wish the brothers were more distinct and unique. It all feels a little too familiar but not quite as interesting as BDB.
I enjoyed Runa but she changed her opinion on Shade awfully quickly. The curse and the backstory with Roag was pretty cool, and I liked how Shade had to overcome his issues to find peace. But honestly I thought Kynan and Gem's story was much more interesting. Now that their path is even more uncertain it makes me want to find out what happens to them. And Wraith!
I'll give it one more book before I give up. ...more

I couldn't keep all of the characters straight and I had a hard time getting back into the world. The action was exciting but I wasn't fully invested in the story and didn't care for the characters as much as I would have liked. Not sure if I will continue with the series....more

I love the setting in this series - Chicago! US Attorneys! - but I did miss that this one was lacking any suspense or mystery aspect. Rylann and Kyle's meet cute felt just a shade creepy to me and though I wanted them to end up together I wasn't all that invested in their contrived backstory. Still a nice quick read and great characters. ...more
