This book was as much fun as James Lear's other works: recreational fucking, pragmatic fucking, and affectionate fucking all in a single package, adorned with watersports (which he seemed VERY obsessed with, and I'm certainly not complaining!), orgy, and body hair fetish; queer men sucking and fucking, bending "straight" men to submit to their own carnal desire; and a splash of self-deprecating humour here and there.
I was surprised to find an actual romance in this book, complete with a solid happy-ever-after. However, since it's James Lear, you don't have to worry that the HEA equals monogamy. After all, our MCs firmly believed that "sometimes the best way of expressing your gratitude is to share your blessings".

It took a unique approach to the subgenre, exploring the meanings of slavery and transition to freedom, as well as the importance of self-awareness, rather than simply revolving around the Master/slave relationship. I loved the displays of caring and affection during every kink scene, especially those featured in the sequel. Kris Ripper’s writing was great!
My only complaint was that the ending was a bit abrupt. The story could have been wrapped up in a more delicate and thorough manner if it had been longer....more

Wow, this was one of the best pieces of incest erotica I’ve ever read. I dived into the story expecting to inhale some unhealthy brocest love/obsession packed with filthy, raunchy sex, but found it actually had so much more to offer.
This was not your average brocest porn. Although the story began with a pornographic, fetishy tone, it ultimately took a realistic turn. I would recommend avoiding spoilers to experience the full impact, but in case you're curious about the ending and don’t mind spoilers: (view spoiler)[the brothers ended up with new partners and decided to never engage in sexual relationship with each other again, because despite their love for each other, they realized that it's impossible to turn a 100% straight guy gay. The romance reader in me screamed “NO!” but the rational part of me found the ending was reasonable and satisfying in a way. They would always be bound to each other, albeit in a non-sexual sense. I also loved the character development and the author’s writing style. The obsession was portrayed in a extremely dirty and fetishy way, yet it was also incredibly touching and beautiful.
I love reading well-written taboo stories, but unfortunately, I find most of the taboo books in M/M genre cringey as f*ck as they usually lack strong characters and believable plots, so I’m so glad that I’ve found this rare gem! And now I crave more! Hope I could come across another one just as good soon!...more

Kinky, sweet, and heartfelt with all the emotional ebbs and flows, still hands-down the best erotic romance with younger Dom/older sub pairing I've read in years. The cascade of angst, intimacy, and affection washed over me, leaving me dazzled and dreamy. I even found Jazz's penchant for terms of endearment cute... *melted into a puddle of aww* Yes, there was a lot of sex in it, yet none of the sex scenes felt gratuitous. Each one served its purpose, mirroring and catalysing the progression of their relationship.
Think of those rare occasions in Romancelandia when what the author wanted to write perfectly aligned with what you wanted to read, and you were simply too engrossed in the story to do any nitpicking. That's exactly how I felt about this series....more
