Chambers Pub date: October 22, 2024 Publisher: Tandor Audio Narrator: Candace Joice This audiobook is an absolute delight with an authentic and wonderful narrator. She nailed Julia’s style and voice. I knew Julia Child was a cookbook author of French cooking, but knew nothing of her work in World War II. This historical fiction novel came to life as we explored her relationship of her soon-to-be husband, her work in secrets trade in Asia and how she transformed throughout her lifetime. A joy! Does she trust Max or the rumors? She desperately wants them to become a family. Gwenna finds her heart pulled in so many ways.
A heartwarming story of sacrifices and love during a horrific time in our history. I will be reading more by this author.

I have enjoyed a variety of beach read this summer. Sadly, all my summer beach plans were cancelled for various reasons. Love this one also included a bookshop.
A charming novel. Second changes, friends, bookstores and Cape Cod, count me inn. This is my third novel by this author and I am working my way through her older books.
I love when tours, NetGalley and publishers introduce me to “new-to-me” authors. McMillian audio introduced me to this author with “The Seaside Sisters”, which is another one I highly recommend. I also finished “The Christmas Inn” which has me ready for all things Christmas....more

Sexy, extravagant, deception, revenge, erotic, powerful and HOLY CRAP, what an ending! I can’t wait for the sequel.

I am very familiar with Runyan’s novels and love them. It was nice to be introduced to other authors with this one. I am always amazed that several authors can weave a story together and blend so nicely. A beautiful scarf connects three very different women in the winter of 1917. I love learning more about our history and the US Army Signal Corps is something I was slightly familiar with as I come from a long line of military. I had never heard of General Pershing’s Hello Girls. I loved the part about an orchestra in the frontlines to help with morale. I was familiar with USO tours but not this aspect. This audio was done beautifully. Thank you Harper Muse for this gifted audiobook. I will look for a hardcopy when this one is out in a few weeks....more

1900s in England.
A sweeping novel with the servants POV. Secrets, mystery, love and intrigue.
Kate is the housekeeper and she knows about the goings on in the manor and the secrets. She does not want the secrets to get out.
The challenges of the servants at the time were historical accurate. I admit I did not know much about that time period, but this novel was very detailed and interesting.
