Holliday (can we please do away with the cutesy somewhat Christmas names in holiday romances) and Nick (again, really?) have a few shared moments when she moves in next door following her divorce. She has a reason for noticing him the first time and then reaches out to check on him after she witnesses something personal. He in turn helps maintain her yard, but when he goes out of his way to get the outside of her house decorated for Christmas things really begin to change between them. I liked this story and how Nick showed her and her kids over and over he was a man of his word. I would have liked move relationship development, we were more “told” what happened between them, but sometimes in a novella the reader has to be satisfied by that. That said despite Holliday’s recent divorce, a job she didn’t like, and no Christmas spirit; the book still had a feeling of hope and joy. Nick showed Holliday just how much fun the holiday could be when you believe. ...more

I loved everything about this book; two long time best friends get married to make sure the child one is raising after his sister's death doesn't spend time with homophobic religious zealots who cast their child aside when he came out. Seriously, everything about this book was perfection. I loved both characters, the plot was amazing (the twist was interesting), and the outcome joyus. Seriously a wonderful story and one of my favorite books of 2023. ...more

I liked both characters well enough even though the MFC drove me crazy with how she kept saying she was going to tell the MMC about something big but didn't which OF COURSE led to a big old blow-up. UGH! Not quite as sweet as the last one, more sexy times. ...more

Each character had been through some pretty traumatic things and slowly but surely they lightened their load by sharing it with the other. At first I wasn't sure I liked them together but the more time they were around one another I my feelings about them as a couple changed. I'm enjoying this series and this special town. ...more

This was another ho hum story in this series; we've seen this one coming but honestly I was hoping for someone Landon actually had chemistry with because I've never felt it with Amanda. To me Amanda had zero personality and throughout this book I grew tired of her feeling like she's not enough. There was a bit of a twist to it but that was the only thing remotely interesting about their relationship. If it hadn't been for the little "check in" with several of the other family members this book wouldn't have held my attention at all and part of the problem was once again there was really no relationship development. A bit of a let down after the last book. ...more

While I enjoyed the first book in the Knockemout series, I really loved this book. I felt it was better balanced, that the romance was on the front burner instead of the back burner, and most of all I truly liked both characters and felt we got to know them on a much deeper level than the two main characters in the first book. This book was classic Lucy Score; interesting characters, fun banter, emotion, friendship, and most of all love (of all kinds). ...more

Felix was a bit naïve and awkward and still grieving his mother who was his everything. Riggs was planning on meeting friends who couldn’t get to the resort but then he’s tasked with finding out if Felix is an international thief but the entire time hoping he isn’t. I liked these characters a lot and loved the set up of this book and at times I had to suspend my belief a bit, but it was light, fluffy, a bit swoony, and a very enjoyable way to spend a bit of time during the holiday rush. ...more

Dana had dated Griffin very briefly while he was trying to move past Lina and Aidan had visited his sister Sloane briefly in the last book, so we didn't know much about either one. Dana has been hurt by the last two men dating her and leaving her for other women they really wanted even when they were with her and Aidan is about 7 months out of a long term relaitonship. A situation has them sharing a house together and they are friendly despite being complete opposites. I think the fact that they became friends first let them lower their guards and truly get to know one another before they became more. I liked this book, Dana is still hard to know and it's not that I don't like her she's just really closed off but Aidan did help her begin to come out of her shell. Her new client is going to be an interesting story for sure. ...more

The chef has been an interesting addition to this town and it was obvious he had a secret. Adding a woman to the small town police force was unique and while I hated what she was dealing with from her old job, the town of Nugget embraced her quickly. Living next door to one another gave Brady and Sloane a foundation of friendship and while they were both not looking for more, they found it in each other. Both their pasts come calling in this story, but in the end it is their trust in each other and the town that embraced them that keeps them where they both feel they belong. I enjoyed this one a lot. ...more
