Christmas at Rose Bend was a delight to read, characters that were flawed but likeable, a relationship built on mutual respect and trust, and a setting that was perfect for the holiday season. While I did feel a bit cheated by the rushed ending, I still enjoyed this book immensely.

I was excited about a book with characters over 40 unfortunately this one missed the mark. Two stars because I liked the hero, the heroine not so much and because the couple was over 40. The plot was decent just poorly executed. I won't continue the series. ...more

I do thinI enjoyed Tacker quite a bit, I was curious how this book would go given Tacker's circumstances and I was please with how it all worked out. I do think his turn around was a bit quick and even though he "fired" her I cringed a little at him getting involved with his therapist mainly because that could have gone very badly for her, it's a pet peeve of mine and it seems to happen a lot in sports romances where they woman's job is the one that could be in jeopardy. That being said, I think they were good together and I loved how involved the whole team got involved with Tacker's recovery. The audio of this one was pretty good, Stephen Dexter did a good job as Tacker and most of the time I liked Lucy Rivers but having an accent part of the time and not the other was strange IMHO. ...more

I loved being back at Happy Acres especially during the holiday season and Taryn Quinn offers up a spectacular holiday story in Fiancée by Christmas. A woman trying to rebuild her life after it came crashing down around her months before and a man who seemingly has everything he could want, but who craves working his Christmas Tree Farm in upstate New York more than sitting in his multi-million dollar offices in NYC. A holiday fling that neither one expects to go further, but in each other they find acceptance, calmness, friendship, and so much love all during the rush of the holiday season....more

I loved Aiden's narration; his is my favorite so far in this series. Veronica's was pretty good as well. I just felt like Aiden embodied Dax, made him come alive. The plot of this one was good, I loved that there wasn't a ton of angst between the couple as they had enough going on without it. Figuring out they were better and stronger together after everything they'd been through recently was enough and that worked for me. Great job Sawyer! ...more

This is my first book by author D.J. Jamison and I thought from the title it was going to be a sexy little Christmas romp, but it was so much more. Two very different people, at two different places in their lives, with a previous interaction that hadn’t gone well, yet a connection on a dating app brings them together and they both have a hard time denying the attraction between them. Sexted by Santa had a lot of pieces and many layers yet they all fit together to make one fantastic holiday story....more

The Geek Who Saved Christmas was a fantastic slow burn holiday romance between neighbors who really didn’t know one another very well. One is all about Christmas and one a bit of a Scrooge they wind up working closely to put together a Christmas to remember when family announces they plan to come for a visit. I loved every sweet, funny, and sexy moment of this story as these two men slowly share so much while preparing for a holiday to remember....more

This isn't a problem per se, but as the characters are American and it is set in the U.S. that's a bit of an editing issue. That being said, I personally didn't find it distracting but some people might.
Pippa and Aiden meet at a ski resort in Colorado and enjoy a one week fling with no last names, no exchange of info, just a week of lust, sex, and fun. They go their separate ways and then many months later they find each other in New York City where Aiden has just relocated.
I love that the majority of this book was Pippa and Aiden building a solid relationship, getting to know one another, learning about each other, and spending time together both in and out of bed. While there was a surprise baby as the title tells you, it was done in a way that it wasn't the major plot point which was interesting and for those who don't believe it can happen, it does. My sister didn't know she was pregnant until she was 7 months, my Spanish teacher in high school didn't know until she had what everyone thought was an appendicitis attack at school was rushed to the hospital where she delivered a 8 lb baby. I absolutely adored the secondary characters as well and hope they will eventually get their own stories too.
Filled with so much laughter, joy, and love, this was a wonderful holiday story. ...more
