I already knew this author was promising just from the first book. She masterfully created these characters, brought them to life; these characters you can't help but hate & love at the same time, AND also leaves you craving for more. B.B Reid did not disappoint.
It was damn near impossible to top off the first book, which was so good, but she managed to do it! The story had gripped me. The book's genre is not suitable and is definitely unagreeable to a large number of readers (esp to the feminists & people with extreme sensibilities) but these dark romances = CRAVINGS and I have found a perfect book that hooked me, made me want to scratch my eyes out at times & caused palpitations in fear as to what will happen next!
The characters aren't perfect. Sometimes I just want Lake to go to Kieran but sometimes I want her to stay as far as possible from him. Sometimes I tear up, another minute I want the action to start! The characters' connection to the readers and their individuality made the entire book perfect. (Forget the statement that the characters aren't perfect. For me, they absolutely are!)
Lake was weak, indecisive, but caring and compassionate as Kieran was controlling, an asshole, the monster you would hide from and does not know how to care and love. Fear You will unfold how they truly found themselves.
One question for the author though: When can we have book 3? *cries*...more

Before the release of the book I kept checking out the reviews hoping for a small clue. There was none. I felt like everyone was teasing me. Now, I felt great knowing how the book turned out & the wait was truly worth it.
I've finished it and could I just say to K.A. Linde: THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS BOOK WITH US.
I love Bri, love her bitchiness & love the way she protects herself (and her heart). I can't say much that may spoil the book. I love that it was one hell of a rollercoaster ride, that I got carried away with the twists & turns, my heart hurts for her & how I finally breathed a sigh of relief when it was over. Bri is one of my most fave book MC ever and this book will be forever close to my heart :'( I hope to read more about the characters (Trihn, Stacia, Pace) next books.
The character dev't - the best. The romance - HECK YEAH. The ending was so satisfying & fulfilling - the closure & the peace she finally got.
And I think this is the fanciest series, ever.

I love how I LOVED and HATED this book. You can't help but love these beautifully broken characters, and you just can't help but hate WTF they are going through.
The author is brilliant. I crave for more. Words aren't enough to describe how I truly feel about the entire series. I will miss the entire rollercoaster ride you gave us, author.
The entire series had me on a leash. You cannot condone the acts of the MCs, but it is their normal. Remember- this is fiction. But psychologically, things do get to that level of fuck-upedness with their experience. You need to have patience & understanding if you encounter traumatized people, and in this case it is their own way of coping with their experiences, and the MCs couldn't have found a better partner than the other to heal- in their scenario, ultimately become the best person they could ever get to be....more
