Well, now this was what I had been talking about. Yes, we had different cases (& expecting it made it easier to read) but they were slightly linked, or at least the main plot was flowing inside the whole story while they were solving the cases.
i wish we had Lockwood's pov as well.
opinion on the series: 3.75 Silver Stars with Golden Sparks
it was exciting. but the whole series lacked something that I can't put my finger on it. yet I can't give the books 3 stars. & the possibility of a reread is very low, which is the usual factor for being a 4. so it's an exception. i guess it was a new perspective & I had great times with good characters. though after 2-3 books it felt a little repetitive, until the end of book 4, which the main plot came to light. (I think it's a little late.) I think if instead of 5, we had 3-4 books it would be better. I felt some of the cases were just there to fill the pages & showing the routine life of the supernatural investigations, which would've been cool, if there were lesser? the Characters & their interactions were fun, I enjoyed it especially in the first two books (& of course the Skull) another complaint that I know of & the series lacked, the romance was soooooo minuscule, I wanted more than just Lucy''s heart stuttering, or Lockwood's worry (it was sweet, but not enough) I wanted some actual scenes that showed it. at least a kiss or something!...more

WOWOWOWOW! this was CRAZY! Action packed & shocking! *mind blown* [image]
I didn't expect it to end this way! (there were many hints throughout the whole series -well, hello? the main thing was the start scene! so I picked up the clues during the series when another hint came up- though I also seen a few HUGE spoilers!- & Momoshiki's constant rambling!) so I knew the result, I just didn't know "HOW" it ends up like this. now I know, & God, even with all those tiny stuff I saw, I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING! *continues screaming!* so complicated & deep! the turning point caught me soooooooooo off guard, I'm still hanging over it!(update after 2 days) who would've thought!?????????
Vol 20: Omnipotence Chapters: 76-80
I just love the characters; Boruto, Mitsuki (my first favourite) & Sarada, & seeing the lovely past characters together in action is also a sweet bonus. & I love how the plot twisted & turned so much that now the main characters at each side (Boruto, Kawaki & Code), kinda giving the same vibes. generally I love this trope when the hero & the villain have the same kind of path or backstory, but it ended up different in the end because of their choices along the way. it was the worst outcome that could happen! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! tbh I'm kinda glad too, it was the best ending it could have for this first era. (author perspective speaking. & my inner maniac. some minor reliefs amongst the mayhem!) now that I finally caught up, I can't wait for more Chapters, episodes, news, etc. Hurry up!
I finished the series, not knowing when Part II comes out & wanted to catch up with the fandom & all the news seeing everywhere (the Timeskip!) so I ended up reading the Manga picking up (after much searching!) where the series finished. so here is a little guide for those who, like me, are searching & wanting to read more: the series finished on chapter 68- which I guess is in vol 19 or middle of 18. this volume explained a whole lot where the show didn't (why?- I know that this Manga comes out very recently, but couldn't they just go on a break & then make the rest so this part before the Timeskip ends properly? dunno. I guess we'll see) so if you finished the show & want to know what'll happen I suggest you start at vol 19 & reading this one next & then go on to chapter 81 which is the Timeskip (Two Blue Vortex) & not out fully yet...more
just like a year ago when I'd wanted a rom-com & tried Hazelwood for the first time by Under One Roof, had a great t4.5 Silver Stars with Golden Sparks
just like a year ago when I'd wanted a rom-com & tried Hazelwood for the first time by Under One Roof, had a great time (& then decided to read all her works!) same thing exactly happened here. the mood came, I've read a short story, & here I am.
by what I'd heard, I was a little hesitant to read it, afraid that I'll find it repetitive, or cliche. but I LOVED it. the premise was my favourite (NASA & space related stuff & neuroscience) I loved Levi & Bee! their characters & together! I guess I have a thing for Hazelwood's pink covers (& also MMC started with L; Liam, Levi)
a Quick & Fun read. & that ending was thriller style! I loved that this book had a more complicated plot than romance dramas (& not only science-related) the writing style was good. I guess Hazelwood is my favourite & go-to rom-com author (even if I haven't read many rom-com. I'm planning to read more.) it's a good read if I'm in the right mood. & even though it was a present 1st person POV (my least favourite narrative style) it never bothered me.
Bee was relatable. & the way she interacted as a smart STEM woman was inspiring. I loved her. the inner science idol thinking threads (Marie Curie!) was making the book more amusing & enjoyable to read. WWMD!
her judgements were mostly on point & understandable & her character building was deep & realistic. I could see myself in her; & their interactions based on this, created funny & interesting moments. (it might be out of the blue, but I'm saying this because in Stuck with You Sadie judged on ONE person's word, jumped to conclusion & never asked around & it irritated me! (well, that was a novella & should've been wrapped up in 100 or so pages. still that was its weak point or I would've give it 4. I loved Sadie)
Levi was so sweeeeeet! & smart. & mysterious & cute. I was grinning when I saw a clue & they didn't. awww, poor bby.
I liked other characters as well; Rocio, Reike, Guy, Boris. (the ones I wanted to slap in the head, multiple times was Tim. & Trevor. just as Bee herself wanted to.)
it wasn't exactly a hate to love, but I guess it could be under this category. it was different perspective, more realistic & I loved this view.
truthfully, I found The Love Hypothesis a little slow or long (though I liked that as well, but this one more) I find this one having a good & appropriate pace & a reasonable plot. not rushed or slow or why would they do that. it flowed smoothly.
so far each month had a 5-star & I'm happy - Plot: ★★★★(★)/5 (especially since the ending was myssteries & thriller style) Characters: ★★★★(★)/5 Writing style: ★★★★(★)/5 (HILARIOUS!) Premise: ★★★★(★)/5 Concept: ★★★★(★)/5...more

how I ended up reading this? funny story: I wanted some cute funny love story (which is happening once in a millennia, really.) suddenly toppled upon this one the cover kinda gets me Voila!
sweet & cute a sort of Hate to Love veryyyy relatable! (I'm a science geek & all her Disney loving soundtracks obsession as well. Liam as well, in his inwardly nature, shyness & nerd stuff) bonus, soooo funny! I didn't expect that! it was easy & fast-paced & the 1st-person narrative in present tense didn't bother me one bit, probably because I feel so related to Mara, it felt like it was actually me. (though be aware, dear young readers, before you add this, you must know it's an Adult book)
& now I want to read all Hazelwood works! - Plot: ★★★★/5 premise: ★★★(★)/5 Characters: ★★★★/5 Written style: ★★★★/5 General idea: ★★★/5...more

my most anticipated read of the year (actually, a close competition with Chain of Thorns, just as they're now battling for being my favourite book of 2023)
2nd Best of 2023
this book was everything I wished for & surprised me with its beauty & excitement. I immensely enjoyed it. loved it. devoured it. thank you. I'm soooooooooooo happy!
I was afraid! (as I said many times!) the last book ending destroyed me! I wailed for a year! (in a good bookdragon-ish way. I love soul-crushing books! hihi!) & you might not remember, but I really thought there was no book 3 then, because I saw no news about it & I was DEVASTATED!) & when the news came out, I was sooooo waiting, counting the months & days kind of waiting for this book! (& near the ending in this book, I was kind of terrified lest the same thing would happen again! *hysterical hahaha*)
I read it slowly to devour every moments & it was fantastic.
I smirked. I gasped. I whooped. I screamed. I cursed. I cried. & most importantly, I grinned like an idiot!
it was beautiful & wonderful & magical & sweet! *deep sigh of relief in a dreamy sort of way* also this book had a bonus point for having one of my soooooooo long waited wishful thinking finally happened & that made me over the moon!
Evangeline is still so relatable & a lot like myself, & the fact that her character development (due to book 2 ending) was kind of a mix of book 1 Evangeline & book 2 (at least that was what I felt), was unique & interesting. Jacks FINALLY (view spoiler)[having a POV & get what he deserved, because poor unfortunate soul! (hide spoiler)] was the best thing!
this series is also one of those exceptions that I love the romance as a center plot, which is intertwining with the other fantasy main plot. (idk if that makes any sense to you, because it does to me. hehe) as I said earlier, in general, Garber's books (especially this series) give me a lot Disney vibes & since I love Disney & their tender romance, I love it here too. I also believe in second chances. also a sucker for those characters who masked or denied their feelings, bonus for tragic/sad backstory, but slowly changed through the process of the story for that one character; the selfish being selfless, the cold being all-caring. this book had all of the above.
the only small things I didn't like here (thus -2%): - there didn't seem to be a consequence when (view spoiler)[the curse was reversed & Evangeline remembered (hide spoiler)], or maybe there was, but ending too soon? I was thinking there would be something terrifying (& it was, if I assumed the events at the end was related to it, but as I said, ended too soon.) the ending was a little rushed in general (I kind of considering the possibility of another book might be unraveling, but it was finished) though the moment I've-been-waiting-for! & also the wrapping up after that was beautiful & I loved it. - at few points, Evangeline's thoughts (NOT Jacks's behaviour) seemed toxic. (view spoiler)[the 'he can hurt me all he wants & I don't care' part. (hide spoiler)] I didn't like that perspective.
I already expressed my opinions in my reviews of previous books. this one is just my emotional support scream panel & I don't know what to say anymore. hehe... - you better read Caraval series first; a few characters are from there, the story branched from there & in general, knowing the world. that series is fundamentally helping in the rules of the world & Fates.
after 3 years (I caught up with the fandom when book 1 here was about to be released (at first no news, only the part in Finale allowed me to have hopes) & I was soooooooo excited) another magical series comes to an end. such a wonderful journey. I loved it, even the year long waits. - Written style: ★★★★★/5 Characters: ★★★★★/5 Plot: ★★★★★/5 World Building: ★★★★★/5 General idea: ★★★★★/5 - pre-read May 21st: yay! beautiful UK edition finally revealed. beautiful cover can't wait! I'm afraid! - Oct 24: it's the day people! HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY! waited soooooooooooo long for this.... after that ending of book 2.... YESSSSSSSSS!
I am NOT ready for the feelz it might have! (I'm pretty sure it "will" have, I mean, just look at the title!)
(just amazing how clicking on "adding to the cart" button could change my moody self to a cheerful grinning person. buying books, aside from reading it, is really a different hobby that can make me happy...more
I had such great times reading this book, nostalgic & fun. thank the gods, Uncle Rick hadn't lost his magic of story telling & Riordanv4.5 Golden Stars
I had such great times reading this book, nostalgic & fun. thank the gods, Uncle Rick hadn't lost his magic of story telling & Riordanverse is still as wonderful & hilarious as I first knew it.
seeing our favourite trio, the original characters, their funny moments, some old characters, some new ones, everything was great. at first I thought it was like one of those short stories, but the story turned better, more plot weaving, deeper, longer & more stuff happening, quests inside quests (poor Percy & the gang!), & better job in laugh department. & of course, the diamond of this book, Percabeth moments, funny & sweet with our favourite Seaweed Brain & Wise Girl.
it was good to be back in this world again (& considering I was half-way into a slump & not particularly in the mood for Riordanverse, it did a great job keeping me on my daily reading schedule) lighthearted & quick & enjoyable
I dunno what to say anymore, it was lovely. *teary eyed*
yeah, I admit, maybe not as adventure after adventure (it was mini local quests), worry & excitements & world weaving & villains after villains & stuff that happened in the main books (both PJO or HoO), you know what I mean? It was mostly fun & great feeling to see another story about Percy & Annabeth, & I only give 4 to my least favs in my all time favourite series, & I liked this one, so you see, rounding up for the old times sake & the nostalgia. just keep that in mind. - World building: ★★★★★/5 Characters: ★★★★★/5 Written style: ★★★★★/5 Plot: ★★★★/5 General idea: ★★★★★/5 - pre-read I remember that I kinda liked to see a little Percabeth quest in the last Apollo book, it was only a little moment in the end & not a quest, so I hope this will be the Percabeth I've been waiting for then. also the original trio grown up *dabbing at my eyes, wiping proud tears* & team up again!
& finally, I am here when a new Percy Jackson original series adventure comes out! I can't believe it! (I haven't joined the demigod fandom back in 2005-2009, & being up to date in fandoms always had a special meaning for me) *dance-y dance dance* [image]

(Current Me to Stubborn Me who didn't want to read it: wow, what a shame that would be if I haven't read it! [image] then one day, I suddenly said to myself, why not??? so it was decided; not only added to my TBR, but owned it almost immediately. & just as quickly started it.
Found family trope
it was beautiful & cozy & heart-warming! & I'm glad it struck my mind to read it. the reminder of obvious small things that we might forget in our everyday lives. but we all need a reminder of that.
I loved the characters. all of them who had an important role; Linus, Arthur, Zoe, the kids. so sweet!
the writing style was fun (not humorously, but unique & relatable... I can't really explain it, you probably know if you read it. if you haven't, well, what are you waiting for? it is a good recommendation) quick & easy cute & lovely the descriptions were also vivid & colourful & sparkly
a few times, the world structure gave X-men vibes, especially in the epilogue) & I liked it.
