She breaks down several of the most popular and well-known personality frameworks to the nitty gritty, making them easy to understand and made me eager to try each of them. This book reads like fiction, but really gets to the heart of why understanding the makeup of our own personalities can help us live the life we really want. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever been curious about the different frameworks or wants to find ways to learn more about themselves.

When I started reading My Not So Perfect Life, I was completely expecting the typical Kinsella set-up: hapless, quirky girl wants a life that she probably/definitely can't afford and has crazy hijinks while finding out what life is really about- and it is....to a point. I was pleasantly surprised in how this one actually ended up with a character, Katie, who isn't afraid to speak up for herself (well, she is, but does it anyway) and becomes a better person through facing her challenges. The story was fresh and completely unputdownable (I think I just invented that word). I highly recommend this book!

This book seemed perfect for me in the description- Irene is a professional spy for The Library, dedicated to finding important books in alternate realities and taking them back to The Library for safekeeping. Totally my kind of book! I was a little disappointed in the beginning, mainly because the plot moved quickly and I had trouble figuring out what was going on (there is a lot of complex world building). However, I was able to figure it out and truly enjoyed it. I believe this is one of those series that one must read several times in order to fully appreciate it. I'm definitely reading more!...more

This has to be one of the creepier books I've read and it was fantastic! Told mainly from the perspective of Jean, the widow of a man accused of abducting a two-year-old little girl, as well as a reporter, a policeman, and the little girl's mother, the story is riveting. I'm not usually a fan of unreliable narrators or of switching from first to third person, but it really works in this novel. This one was definitely hard to put down!...more

Holland, the beloved niece of a composer for a new Broadway show, has a crush on a talented guitarist who busks in a subway station. When she finds out her uncle needs a new musician, she brings the guitarist to his attention. Calvin, however, is here from Ireland illegally. So they decide to get married so he can join the show. I'll admit that I am a sucker for marriage of convenience stories. This novel grabbed me from the beginning and was extremely hard to put down (thank goodness I'm on Christmas break!). I definitely recommend this one!
