At times Half a War had me gripped and I liked the ending overall though I would have liked a chapter or two at the end from Yarvi's viewpoint as he underpinned all three books. All three books had great characters and character growth. Some of them took time to grow on me, like Thorn, from book 2, who then became one of my favourite characters. Similarly, Raith took a while to grow on me and reading his viewpoint at the start of Half a War was my least favourite, but this changed as the story progressed and I liked his conclusion though it was bittersweet.
Out of the books in the trilogy, Half the World (book 2) was my favourite largely due to the characters and the journey they were on. ...more
