There are a couple of places I use to get text notifications when books I want come on the market. At one point, a few months ago, someone listed it for $25, and I immediately purchased it. The bookseller cancelled the transaction and relisted it for several hundred dollars. Kinda irked me. I sent an email, they denied it… whatever… anyway, this copy pops up for $8.06, and I grabbed it up. I doubt any of those pricey copies are ever going to sell. Anyway, it was worth $8.06, not sure I would say it was worth $25.
If you are decently knowledgeable about the Leyenda Negra, and really wish to delve in a little deeper, this book will definitely give you a greater understanding of the Spanish historical caricature formed in our American minds. The author could have done a much better job, and throughout most of the book simply states the false narrative created without explaining well the corrected narrative. After the first half of the book, he does pick up his game a bit.
The use of English primary sources is superb. By the time I finished this book I was amazed, and fully understood how even in a small Catholic school I was fed so much of the Black Legend. That was something that perplexed me when I would think back on it, as Catholics have a vested interest in rejecting the Black Legend whole-cloth. These false narratives were reinforced year after year, decade after decade, century after century. The wartime propaganda and the anti-Catholic propaganda became the accepted English history, which was naturally adopted by the United States.
This would be better read after reading “Tree of Hate” by Philip Wayne Powell. Also, concerning the Spanish Inquisition there are two books that are quintessential to having a proper understanding, one is William Thomas Walsh’s “Characters of the Inquisition” and the other is Henry Kamen’s “The Spanish Inquisition: A Historical Revision” written in 1997 (he wrote other books on the Inquisition earlier). Kamen was head of a team that studied the original Spanish Inquisition documents after they were open to scholars in 1977. He and his team worked from 1977-1989 on their in depth study. To best understand the Conquest of Mexico and Mexican history I cannot recommend strongly enough, “Mexico a Land of Volcanoes” by Joseph H. Schlarman....more

I just finished “The Naked Communist” by Skousen and “The Naked Truth” by Bowers which is an updated addendum for part of the previous. I finished “RaI just finished “The Naked Communist” by Skousen and “The Naked Truth” by Bowers which is an updated addendum for part of the previous. I finished “Race, Politics and Culture: Critical Essays on the Radicalism of the 60s” a week ago.
All three books intertwine like part of a tapestry. The first two mentioned are an outline of communist infiltration in the US government (written in 1958, revised 1962), and an update on the goals accomplished thus far by the communists/progressives (written 2012). The third mentioned is a series of academic essays by progressives/communists on their failings in the 1960s and a reassessment on how to be more successful in the future (written in the 1970s and 1980s). Absolutely fascinating trilogy of books.
“The Naked Truth” was a good book, worth the read. Nearly all references that were from the last 20 years are Rightwing political pundits (which do have their value). But it has mostly clear and visible facts of modern society. The author puts all blame for every bad of society on marxism, which is not really accurate. But, if you read it critically, you will see a mountain of truth and a hill of debris. There was also a bit of misspelling which always aggravates me.
Overall, both of the “Naked” books have my strong recommendation, with a caveat on the second.
What is overlooked by both Skousen and Bowers is the organized and documented attack on the Christian culture by the Freemasons here in the USA, which was the plow and the fertilizer for the marxist crop. Legislative attacks through the Masonic arm against Christian education, and primarily against private Catholic schooling began in the very beginning of the 1900s, a couple decades prior to any marxist infiltration into our society.
In those early days, the Masons were defeated in the Supreme Court, but they pushed on. It is well documented in “American Masonry and Catholic Education” by the Rev. Michael Kenny in 1926. That book was to be a presentation some 6 years earlier, but was scrapped as it was thought to be over-reaching conspiracy theory. By the time it was published, the Masons had gotten some laws passed in Oregon which the Supreme Court shot down.
In a book written in 1884-5 by Monsignor Dillon, “Grand Orient Freemasonry Unmasked as the Secret Power Behind Communism” documents, 33 years before the Bolshevik revolution no less, that the Freemasons had set up groups around Europe to spread the ideas of socialism and communism.
The Masonic child of socialism/communism became wayward, and broke from its Masonic parents, though maintaining the same Luciferian spirit, with equal goals to destroy Christian Culture and the Western Civilization she had built.
I do not blame Skousen and Bowers for overlooking that part of this continued history. They were blinded by the intense onrush of marxism to realize where it was born. But now there is a multiheaded monster of demonic secularism we must fight. They are organized. They used a several generation plan. We must do the same. Organize and plan for their defeat. The first section is a clear fiction. I believe it, as well as the third section, to be purposeful garbage, which anyone with half a brain could smell as bullshit from a mile away. The second section, piled between two cow pies, is a legitimate translation of the, “Permanent Instruction” of the Alta Vendita, which was the reigning Masonic Lodge of the sect known as the Carbonari. It was one of a cache of documents turned over to the Vatican in the 19th century, probably by the Carbonaro Nubius, who was in conflict with the Mazzini, the leader of the Carbonari at the time.
I believe this booklet was put together to discredit the “Permanent Instruction” as myth. The first and the third chapters of this are fabrications of extremely poor quality. If you really wish to understand a bit of this stuff, I suggest you get a copy of Mgr. George Dillon’s “Grand Orient Freemasonry Unmasked...” The translation of the “Permanent Instruction” in this volume is actually the translation from Dillon’s book, with a misspelled typo, “poinard” for “poniard” which is a type of dagger. That is what caused me to notice the translation.

This was an enjoyable essay, except that both sections seemed unfinished to me. It was a fun philosophic exercise nonetheless. I have read a few booksThis was an enjoyable essay, except that both sections seemed unfinished to me. It was a fun philosophic exercise nonetheless. I have read a few books that speak of language and its uses and abuses, and I wrote the following shortly after reading this booklet.
Words. Language. What are their purpose? The purpose of words, of language, is to communicate truth, ideas, facts, emotions. It is not the purpose of words and language to deceive. Words should convey a clear meaning. There have always been people keen on deception that have misused words and language. We have the beautiful orators known as the Sophists. That is where we get the word “sophistry.”
There are many ways words are abused. Using terms like “escort” to describe a prostitute. To use the word “choice” to describe slaughtering a baby. The first is to make less shameful the act of procuring a prostitute (often trafficked underaged girls), the other to frame the debate over merciless killing of the most vulnerable in our society.
Lakoff and Dean talk about “framing the debate” in their book, “Don’t Think of an Elephant!” Debate frames can be honest (pro life movement) or dishonest (an invading army in reference to refugees at our southern border).
Doublespeak was pioneered by the Freemasons in the 19th century as documented by Mgr. Dillon as noted in his book “Grand Orient Freemasonry Unmasked as the Secret Power Behind Communism” originally published in 1885. (Yes, pre-Bolshevik revolution.)
Doublespeak became a tactic of Marxism-Leninism. This is used in a double manner, pardon the pun. Dr. Bella Dodd (Communist agent converted back to Catholicism) speaks about this ‘art’ of doublespeak in her book, “School of Darkness” where those indoctrinated communists, when hearing a speech from a communist organizer or politician who is speaking to a crowd in which the initiated and the uninitiated hear two opposing messages.
Some clear examples of the use of doublespeak from the 1930s to present day United States would be when such degenerates as Saul Alinsky in cahoots with Cdls. Mundelein and Bernardine as well as Bp. Sheils used it to hijack the language of Catholic social doctrine and imbue it with communist meaning. Now, if a Catholic tries to spread Catholic social doctrine even among other Catholics, he may be derided as a “commie Catholic” as some of my friends, er, acquaintances like to call me.
And then we have in the present the organization that calls itself the New Pro Life Movement (NPLM) using the same method of doublespeak with the language of the real pro life movement. The NPLM demonized the old pro life movement as people that don’t care about the mothers and only want to force them to have babies. They have a completely baseless propaganda against the real pro-life movement and they are stealing and corrupting the language.
Enter language concerning gender. “Male” and “female,” “him” and “her,” these and other words are being made to be meaningless. Marriage no longer means a sacred bond between a man and a woman. Soon it may be used to signify a bond between a “non-binary” gendered “they” with their cat.
The corruption of language affects our ability to think clearly and concisely. The abuse of language opens up avenues of thought that are decrepit. Language, its use and abuse dictates much of our thought.
I do not know if there is a remedy for the predicament in which we find ourselves. The relativism has reached heights in our society that are unfathomable. We have seen in the last month our “news” stations tell us it is dangerous to gather in protest against mandatory lockdowns as we may catch COVID-19, but it is entirely safe to gather in protest of police brutality as that shall not increase your risk of contracting COVID-19. If you gather to tear down a statue or riot, safe, if you go to a Trump rally, in danger.
Do you find yourself at wits end? I certainly do. Where do we go from here? Must we fall into violent anarchy, burn the whole thing down and arise like the demonic Phoenix from the flames? No! Perhaps we must have a clash, but that clash should be with the goal of re-instituting the social reign of Christ the King inside a new Christendom. That is the only hope for a true and good society....more

Dillon brings to light the fact that the Freemasons had started groups with the intention of spreading the ideology of communism and socialism throughout the world. Did you catch that? Back in 1884, some 33 years before the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, Dillon had informed the world of the Masonic spread of the ideology that was to kill hundreds of millions of people in the following century!
This book is well investigated and well cited. Dillon does a masterful job at unmasking Freemasonry and teaching us of what became the tactics of the Marxists and now the “progressives.” In these erudite pages there are two tactics pointed out in which we see their use throughout the last century and into our own day that I wish to highlight. These are tactics created by the Freemasons that were mainstays of Marxism/Leninism and are current still in the progressive movement. Two of these I wish to highlight, doublespeak which is language, its use and abuse as a way of spreading an evil ideology. The second is the use and creation of crisis to further their diabolical agenda.
Doublespeak was pioneered by the Freemasons in the 19th century as here documented by Mgr. Dillon in our book “Grand Orient Freemasonry Unmasked as the Secret Power Behind Communism” originally published in 1885. (Yes, pre-Bolshevik revolution.)
Doublespeak became a tactic of Marxism-Leninism. This is used in a double manner, pardon the pun. Dr. Bella Dodd, Communist Party USA agent (1930s-1940s) who converted back to Catholicism, speaks about this ‘art’ of doublespeak in her book, “School of Darkness,” in her depositions to the US government and in her lectures, where those indoctrinated communists, when hearing a speech from a communist organizer or politician who is speaking to a crowd in which the initiated and the uninitiated hear two opposing messages.
Some clear examples of the use of doublespeak from the 1930s to present day United States would be when such degenerates as Saul Alinsky in cahoots with Cardinals Mundelein and Bernardin as well as Bishop Sheils used it to hijack the language of Catholic social doctrine and imbue it with communist meaning. Now, if a Catholic tries to spread Catholic social doctrine even among other Catholics, he may be derided as a “commie Catholic” as some of my friends, er, acquaintances like to call me.
And then we have it continued on in the “progressive” movement in organization’s like the New Pro Life Movement (NPLM) using the same method of doublespeak with the language of the real pro life movement. The NPLM demonized the old pro life movement as people that don’t care about the mothers and only want to force them to have babies. They have a completely baseless propaganda against the real pro-life movement and they are stealing and corrupting the language.
In this same vein we have debate framing, which is yet another form of doublespeak. Lakoff and Dean talk about framing the debate in their book, “Don't Think of an Elephant!: Know Your Values and Frame the Debate--The Essential Guide for Progressives.” Debate frames can also be honest such as “the pro-life” movement, or dishonest, “pro-choice” or “right to work state.”
The use and creation of crises to further the Masonic/communist/progressivist agenda is highlighted throughout history. We see it first utilized in France, when the new leadership group of Freemasons called the Illuminati used current events, and helped to create the crisis that lead to the French Revolution.
Dr. Bella Dodd speaks of the communist tactic of creating crises, always on the Left, never on the Right, so that the solution will drag, ever so slowly, the whole society to the Left. She explains that they never caused or used crises on the Right.
We are experiencing that currently with the Black Lives Matter organization and protests/riots. The founders have been open about their Marxism. Here is a quote from BLM cofounder Patrisse Cullors who was trained by Eric Mann of the Marxist/Leninist terror organization Weather Underground in an interview with Jared Ball of the Real News Network: “We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories. And I think that what we really tried to do is build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk.”
Using the race issue in a way to forward their ideology is deep seated and you can find it on display in “Race Matters” by Cornel West and the book “Race, Politics, and Culture: Critical Essays on the Radicalism of the 1960's” edited by Adolf Reed who is also an essay contributor to the book.
Dillon warned us over 130 years ago about the tactics and agenda that were assailing our world. There were many voices screaming of the impending doom if we were not to act. Sorrowfully, their screams, pleas, and warnings fell upon mostly deaf ears. Now we are in a fully post Christian secular-pagan culture which seems perched for the deathblow to all that was once the glorious Christendom that gave us such heavenly philosophy, art and architecture. Of the Christendom that civilized the world.

While visitinOriginally I had no intention of reading this book due to the antagonistic stance the author holds toward the Holy Father, Pope Francis. While visiting with a priest friend, he proceeded to read a section to my wife and I, and it really piqued my curiosity. As a child I had read the TAN book AA-1025 (a fictional depiction of supposedly true events), but was not really familiar with Dr. Bella Dodd, the Communist Party USA agent that was expelled from the Party, converted back to the Catholic Faith under the guidance of the great Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
A portion of Dr. Marshall’s book was read to my wife and I by the Good Padre Whom we were smoking cigars and drinking whisky with. Our ensuing conversation caused me to jump into an investigation of Freemasonry and Communism as they relate to the Catholic Church, and over the last 3 months I have proceeded to read over a dozen books on the subject written between 1797-1956, and papal encyclicals, the oldest dates 1738, on the subject before I read this current tome. I have about a dozen more books I am slated to read on the subject, 3 or 4 I will finish in the following weeks.
In reading “Infiltration” by Dr. Marshall, it seems he also must have come upon the same roadblocks as I in this endeavor of pinpointing Dr. Dodd’s involvement in recruiting people to the seminary. He is clearly misleading, though not quite lying, in his book “Infiltration.” This is found on page 85, paragraph 2 and the page 85 note.
The first misleading instance I reference is when he is speaking of Dodd’s testimony before the US House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1953. (I actually have an original copy of the transcript printed for the members of the House in my library.) The last sentence is linking the priest infiltration story to this testimony. He does not lie per se, but it is strongly insinuated to have been included in her testimony to government, which it was not.
As for the note on the Fordham lecture, he mentions that there is an audiotape of said lecture and he used a newspaper article that mentions the lecture to corroborate that the lecture happened, but the article does not mention the supposed part where she speaks about communist infiltration into the priesthood. The audio of the Fordham lecture is available online at YouTube. This infiltration story is absent from the audio portion, but the video goes on to “transcribe” the missing story claiming it was included in the lecture.
It is clear that Marshall and I came to the same dead-end regarding the Dodd story.
There are quite a few loose ends in the book that are extremely disappointing. He infers many things due to correlation. I wish he would have tied them together or left them out.
His chapter on Pope St. John Paul II betray his swimming too long in the cesspool of sedevacantist literature and websites.
Some chapters were fantastically written and investigated.
There were more than an acceptable amount of typos and misspellings which lend to my opinion that this is an unfinished book.
Following is a synopsis of my investigation into the Dr. Bella Dodd story if you are curious:
Dr. Bella Dodd allegedly recruited 1100 people into the Catholic seminaries while a Communist Party USA agent. Other stories say 1200 people were recruited by her to enter Catholic organizations. This endeavor was supposedly called, “Operation Outstretched Hand”.
A book published in 2000, “The Venona Secrets — Exposing Soviet Espionage and America’s Traitors” by Herbert Romerstein and Eric Breindel claim there was a Soviet operation by the name “Outstretched Hand” that had as part of its goal infiltration of the Catholic priesthood. I have not read this book, and I am unsure if Dr. Dodd herself used the name.
She supposedly signed an affidavit confirming this story. The supposed affidavit is allegedly in the possession of Alice von Hildebrand.
There is an interview Michael Voris did with Alice von Hildebrand where she claims Dodd told her husband, Diedrich von Hildebrand, about this infiltration to seminaries. It is not corroborated. She also spoke of it at other times. Here is a quote from Alice von Hildebrand:
“I can only tell you what I know. It is a matter of public record, for instance, that Bella Dodd, the ex-Communist who reconverted to the Church, openly spoke of the Communist Party’s deliberate infiltration of agents into the seminaries. She told my husband and me that when she was an active party member, she had dealt with no fewer than four cardinals within the Vatican ‘who were working for us.’”
In an interview about Archbishop Fulton Sheen, Fr. Andrew Apostoli, CFR who was quite close to Sheen and was ordained by him we have this excerpt:
“The Lord also brought individuals to him who told of experiences which he probably wished he didn't have to know. For example the one time ardent Communist Bella Dodd was a convert of Archbishop Sheen. She told him that while she was a Communist Joseph Stalin told her and other Communists that the Catholic Church was the greatest enemy of Communism. He wanted to undermine the Church by recruiting men into the priesthood who had no vocations and who would cause havoc by confusion and bad example. Bella Dodd told the Archbishop that she had personally recruited into the priesthood between 800 and 1200 men who had no vocations. Knowledge such as this was not easy for Archbishop Sheen. Yet it caused him to pray even harder.”
She supposedly spoke of it during a lecture at Fordham University. There is audio of the lecture, but when she supposedly spoke of it during the lecture, the audio that I can find does not have this part of the lecture, and we only have a supposed transcript of this part of the lecture. Here is the supposed transcript, keep in mind that she was first approached by the communists in 1929:
“In the late 1920s and 1930s, I personally put eleven hundred men into the priesthood in order to weaken the Catholic Church from within.
“The idea was for these men to be ordained and progress to positions of influence and authority as Monsignors and Bishops…
“Right now they are in the highest places where they are working to bring about change in order to weaken the Church’s effectiveness against Communism.
“These changes will be so drastic that you will not even recognize the Catholic Church.
“Of all the world’s religions, the Catholic Church was the only one feared by the Communists, for it was its only effective opponent.
“The whole idea was to destroy, not the institution of the Church, but rather the faith of the people, and even use the institution of the Church, if possible, to destroy the faith through the promotion of a pseudo-religion.
“Something that resembled Catholicism but was not the real thing.
“Once the faith was destroyed, there would be a guilt complex introduced into the Church… to label the ‘Church of the past’ as being oppressive, authoritarian, full of prejudices, arrogant in claiming to be the sole possessor of truth, and responsible for the divisions of religious bodies throughout the centuries.
“This would be necessary in order to shame Church leaders into an ‘openness to the world,’ and to a more flexible attitude toward all religions and philosophies. The Communists would then exploit this openness in order to undermine the Church.” (Supposedly taken from Dr. Bella Dodd, lecture at Fordham University in 1953)
Bella Dodd is said to have spoken of it in her depositions to various government bodies, only it was off the record and therefore absent from the transcripts.
In her book, School of Darkness she directly contradicts this story of recruitment twice. She also leaves everything out about this in the rest of the book. I do not find the evidence I have seen thus far to be compelling.
Both Fr. Apostoli, CFR and Alice von Hildebrand are honest, trustworthy individuals in my estimation. I have had the opportunity of meeting both of them when I was a Knight of the Holy Eucharist in Hanceville, Alabama. I trust them. They are not lying. I am inclined to believe they were misled....more

This bThe intrigue, the mystery the clandestine march to dystopia. Sadness, depression, anger and hate followed by a return to God, to hope, to love. This book was a short and intense journey I was glad to have trudged.
The inspiration to get this book was the story of Dr. Bella Dodd recruiting over 1000 immoral persons to join seminaries throughout the United States as part of her work as a leader in the Communist Party of America. In her autobiography here, there is not an inkling of an indication that this is true. Further, her retelling of her conversion back to the Catholic Faith is in direct contradiction to the idea she did so. Thus, for her to have been an agent of recruitment into the Catholic priesthood of communists and perverts, she would have been dishonest in the bulk of the book through gross omission of this quite important part of her story, and she would have been dishonest at the close of her book, when twice she asserts that her crimes against Holy Mother Church were through silence during calumniation of the Church. If her sin against the Church culminated in silence during the spreading of lies as she states twice, then the legend of her aid in infiltration is a false legend.
I have acquired some original copies of manuscripts of two different of her depositions to government agencies, one from 1952 and another from 1954. Those were not the only times she went for deposition by government agencies. I have not read them yet.
It has been said that Archbishop Fulton Sheen told her not to name those who infiltrated with her aid. That sounds suspect. Also, I doubt he would have instructed her to lie, and if she did recruit these men for said purpose, she made herself a liar in her autobiography.
There is zero claim by her in her autobiography that she ever targeted or knew of a targeting of seminary infiltration, and there are statements that directly contradict the idea that she had anything to do with an infiltration of men into the Catholic priesthood.
If such things were occurring, which is certainly possible, that was absolutely out of her scope in the Communist Party as described in her book “School of Darkness”. She may have had an opportunity to prep individuals that were teachers to enter as professors of the seminaries, but that idea is well contradicted in her autobiography as well.
She is quite clear on the cultish destruction of any books in the libraries of the communists that were “dangerous”. That said, the communists would not have permitted their agents to study Catholic theology and philosophy which might undermine their faith in communism, but would have been necessary knowledge in order to infiltrate the seminary.
The destruction of books is very believable as Marx himself proclaimed that no study of older philosophy was necessary or desirable as it was all bourgeois philosophy and should be utterly rejected. He and Engels were both clear on this in their essays and articles.
I do have original transcript copies of two separate congressional depositions of hers which I have not read. But, if those depositions contain such assertions, I would have to believe that either her book, her depositions or both are merely fabrications, and that she was being spiteful after rejection from the party, unless it is a description of actions she was aware of, but not involved in personally....more
Recently, I got my hands on some very rare books published between 70-150 years ago concerning the Freemasons, including this fantastic book here, by Recently, I got my hands on some very rare books published between 70-150 years ago concerning the Freemasons, including this fantastic book here, by Reverend Cahill, SJ. Besides these specifically topical books from that era, over the last couple years I have read many rare and semi-rare Catholic publications from that time period concerning seemingly different subject matter of the contemporary world (late 19th early 20th century) and they always have tidbits of key occurrences that involve the Freemasons in the context of the disparate subjects of their respective books, often containing such information as names, addresses and so forth.
Also, in studying 15th and 16th century Spain and Hispanoamérica, and the creation of the Black Legend concerning Spain, the Inquisition, and the Conquest of the Americas, I have learned much concerning the Jewish roots in media and propaganda. Their desire to destroy the Catholic Church and their use of things that even held them in contempt.
Some anti-Christian Jews that were expelled from Spain mastered the art of propaganda almost as soon as the printing press was invented. In order to break Christianity asunder, they spread the pamphlets of Las Casas (the ambitious, lying, and wicked Dominican bishop) concerning the Conquest of the Americas all around Europe, they translated Martin Luther’s works into Spanish (and other languages, but the main target was Spain, the only real stronghold of Catholicism at the time), and disseminated them throughout Spain and the Catholic world. I am sure that their endeavors are a big reason Protestantism still exists. This is a deep root of modern Freemasonry.
Many Catholic magazines and periodicals of the 19th and early 20th century had investigative articles covering all these things. There were many books by priests, bishops, Catholic journalists, scholars that were Knights of Columbus and so forth.
Now, if one brings up a globalist conspiracy of the Freemasons in conjunction with their leadership groups inside these societies such as the Illuminati and the Carbonari, that person will be derided as a conspiracy theorist, an anti-Semite if you mention the heavy cabalistic Jewish leadership(which is ludicrous as it pertains only to the Masonic and anti-Catholic Jews, not a race or a religion), ad Infinitum.
These older books take the itch of doubt out of ones mind that contemporary authors such as Dr. Taylor marshall or John Salza would cause by thoughts that perhaps this is a hindsight extrapolation that fits a theory.
A lot of the info in these books from 100 years or so ago, I gad learned as a child from my mother, grandmother and then religion teacher at Padre Pio Academy. As I grew older, it baffled me that my family had so much knowledge of the inner workings of Freemasonry. I am no longer confounded by this as I’ve learned it used to be somewhat common knowledge for practicing, serious Catholics.
The second edition by Father Cahill is expounded with supplement appendices for several chapters which are strongly illuminating. The appendices also include a back and forth from a high ranking Mason concerning the controversy of the book at original publication. The newspaper battle with subsequent notes are fantastic. One who reads these can see clearly the propaganda genius of the Mason antagonist. Anyone who read his lengthy letters to the editor of the newspaper(s) in question would have easily been mislead, or at least begun to question the honesty and reliability of Father Cahill, as there are so many false assertions and “facts” presented by Dr. Claude, the Mason conducting the correspondence. An utterly fascinating study this has been for me. ...more

It is always disheartening to read such documents as this, which were intended to stop certain evils which in our time have prevailed. So many if the ideas and values of the Masons have completely permeated our society, so much so that people of good and orthodox leaning accept them. We must be vigilant, nay, militant in opposition to these and other evils assailing Christ and His Church. God be with us!...more

Here we have a very moderate (if that is the right word) overview of Freemasonry in the United States. As of now, I have read many other books on Freemasonry in the United States as well as some for European and Grand Orient Masonry. I feel I am really getting a historic grasp on the history of the Masonic war against Jesus Christ and His Church. I am not certain I trust this author on the subject as he uses the authority of ex-Mason acquaintances and misleads or ignores a number of well investigated facts from books he uses as references. His other book titles seem to point to the author as having a spirit of indifferentism. He seems to praise to often the values and morals of the American Masons while making sure to point out that a Catholic cannot be a Mason in good standing with the Church.
After reading a much wider selection on Freemasonry, some specifically concerning America, I feel that this author was, in a way, writing an apologetic to convince the American Catholic reader that the Masons are really an ok, or even swell organization, albeit one we must avoid membership in, because rules are rules. Out of so many of the books I have read on the subject now, this one is the only one that has a mainstream Catholic publisher still publishing it. A shame, as others are ao much better....more

If one is doing some research into Masonry, this booklet has a decent bibliography that one may avail themselves to. I believe the leads contained in this book through the bibliography is the only redeeming quality between its covers....more

The speech was shelved as it was seen as too much conspiracy theory, a little too far-fetched for the conference.
Fast-forward a few years from the conference, and all the warnings of the speech not given came into reality, with the Freemasons getting laws passed to outlaw Catholic schools (overturned by the Supreme Court) and the Masons resolve to continue the fight against a Catholic education in the United States of America.
The Freemasons have spread their irreligion and depravity far and wide in the 100+ years since this was written. They have all but succeeded in remaking our nation into a Godless wasteland, full of immorality, subjectivism and doublethink.
We must know our enemies if we wish to protect our children from their wiles and hopefully defeat them at a future time. This is a great book to read if you are able to find a copy. It helps to make these things more real in our minds....more
