Ribbons and Frills is a lovely second chance story. Ashley and Gary are so hot and sweet together. The only problem with the story is that it’s too short, and the end is wrapped up only in a couple of short sentences. I’ll definitely read more from the authors.

Draco’s viewpoint is a delight, as usual. I love being inside his head.
The dialogues are superb, the storyline is well-structured with an unexpected turn.

Potter moans into the kiss, his body melting as Draco's hands explore the hard planes of his chest. "Yes. Fuck," Potter says. "I don't know what he paid for you, but you're worth every galleon." Draco pulls back. "Paid for?" he asks. "Right," Potter says, "You don't want to break character." Draco decides to ignore the statement. After all, Potter has always been weird and Draco isn't going to give up this opportunity.

It’s a world ruled by Voldemort. It’s full of terror, but there is hope. There is a Resistance and also a new prophecy.
Harry’s lungs strained for air. “How can you live in this world?” Draco said, “We can’t.”
Meeting Voldemort’s Inner Circle was torturous and sickening. I can’t say much without giving everything away. The story is not about defeating Voldemort once again, it’s just about Draco and Harry getting together.

He beat Voldemort with Malfoy’s wand. This fact never ceased to amaze him. Fate seemed to want to bring the two of them in the same orbit time and again.
When Draco Malfoy hits Zacharias Smith in the middle of Diagon Alley because of his defamatory book about the events and participants of the war, Auror Potter is sent to bring Draco in. But Harry can’t keep his cool, and joins Draco to beat Smith up. They are both sentenced three months of community service in Muggle London. Together.
There are so many wonderful things in this story. The post-war situation and feelings are nicely depicted. The way Draco becomes acquainted with the Muggle world, and his tentative enthusiasm to Muggle things are adorable. Hermione and Ron, Neville, Ginny, Narcissa Malfoy are all amazing.
“I hardly think a Muggle magazine can assist me with my love problems.” “Why is that?” “Because I seriously doubt a Muggle magazine would have an article on ‘How to find love when you’re a disgraced Death Eater.’”
So many fascinating scenes, too: the one in the cinema, the one after the cinema, the one in the ball, the one with Mr. Ollivander, the one in the club, and so on. Basically the whole story.
I loved it! It's truly amazing! Highly recommended! [image][image][image]...more

Draco’s cover girlfriend also breaks up, because he wants to live her life, so Draco needs a new cover to avoid his mother’s matchmaking attempts. He doesn’t even mind to be outed. So it seems very convenient to have a fake relationship with each other. All they need to do is simply pretend they’re in love.
“And so we have to … fake…? How do we do this?” Malfoy’s voice is low and raspy and yet he still manages to sneer at Harry. “How do people do this, Potter? Need instructions?” He unbuttons three buttons of his shirt and unzips his trousers. Holy moly mother of Merlin. Harry forces himself to stare at Malfoy’s eyes, and not the line of golden hair disappearing under the waistband of his Calvins. “Make some noise,” Malfoy advises. Harry moans, a little too loudly, and Malfoy snorts. “Not like that. More… natural.” He smirks, a little affectionately. Harry retorts, “You do it then, if you’re so good.”
My favorite thing in this story is Draco’s portrayal. It is how I want him to be: snarky, arrogant and adorably, desperately longing for Harry. Ooh, and superhot.
That ear-nibbling was almost better than a kiss. Almost.

"You know,” he said, unable to keep a wry smile from creeping across his face, “you could have just conjured your own umbrella – transfigured one from a rock or something. If I didn’t know better, I might think that you like standing so close to me." "You could have used an Engorgio to make your umbrella bigger if the proximity was bothering you. I think it might be you who likes standing close to me."

London is foggy, and Sherlock Holmes is bored. And very unsatisfied by the fact that nothing interesting happens.
"The London criminal is certainly a dull fellow," said he, "Look out of this window, Watson. See how the figures loom up, are dimly seen, and then blend once more into the cloud-bank. The thief or the murderer could roam London on such a day as the tiger does the jungle, unseen until he pounces, and then evident only to his victim." "There have," said I, "been numerous petty thefts." Holmes snorted his contempt. "This great and sombre stage is set for something more worthy than that," said he. "It is fortunate for this community that I am not a criminal."
The first half of the investigation is brilliant as usual, but ending is abrupt and the case is solved easily. It was a fun read though, I really enjoyed it.
It was one of my friend's most obvious weaknesses that he was impatient with less alert intelligences than his own.

Yes, it's only a puzzle for Sherlock Holmes, which is solved fast and brilliantly.

While Stefan is gay, and he is expecting only to have a BFF, Max is practically already in love with the person he has spent a year in the game's chatroom. Stefan is pleasantly surprised, while Max is a little bit disappointed but also conflicted about his feelings and his undiminished attraction to Stefan.
The Romance Smooth, angst-free, nice, slow-burn, lovely.
Characters Nice, charming, loveable.
Writing Style A bit wordy; too many secondary characters.

The voyeurism-exhibitionism aspect creates a nice frame, but it is not just a kinky story. It is so much more than what the blurb indicates.

Nicely flowing plot, not too heavy background story, catchy writing style.
The characters are unique but not overdone; complex but not inconsistent.

The romance develops quickly but not unforgivably so; it’s sweet but not sappy. No games, only direct and open communication – I loved that!
Flynn looks proud and triumphant. “Acting like I don’t care.” He nods. “That’ll do the trick. Soon enough, you’ll feel wounded and annoyed because I’ve stopped asking.” What the fuck. I can’t help but laugh. “You’re not supposed to explain your schemes.” “Well…” His eyes flicker to the tablet. “I don’t want you to actually believe I don’t care.”
And so much delicate humor and cuteness! I just couldn’t stop smiling.

The Romance As most of the time, Northcote starts the story with a sex scene (Love that!). Attraction first, feelings later. I love this structure.

Characters Deeply closeted, carrier-is-life lawyer meets out-and-proud hottie. Though they are boss and employee, there is a nice balance. They’re equal to each other. Both are strong personalities, they are honest and can talk about their feelings.
Writing Style Fluid and gripping. The family drama wasn’t overdone.

"Sometimes, what the world asks of us is wrong. And when it is that wrong, there is no honor in obeying it."
I don’t read historical romances, let alone medieval ones, so I don’t really know the genre. I read it anyway, you know, because it is an Eli Easton. I’ve never thought it would affect me that much.

The storyline was thrilling, and even though I knew beforehand that it had a HEA, I was scared and worried for the characters here and there.

Swoon-worthy knights, a breathtakingly beautiful romance, delicious and steamy erotic scenes, exciting fights, and a wonderful ending. I loved it!! I could totally imagine this as a movie.

Ms. Anya Wylde’s new novel is a historical mystery. (No romance - sadly, only something in prospect between Lucy and Lord Adair at the end.)
Lucy is meddlesome, tend to embarrass herself, and easily gets into uncomfortable situations. The story is told from her viewpoint, and I often was lost in her rhapsodic, fragmented thoughts and observations.
Lord Adair is a key figure in Penelope too. He is my favorite character from Ms. Wylde books, and he doesn’t disappoint here either. I would love to see him falling in love.
The story is great, though the plot has to fight a serious battle with the narration.
The situations are over-the-top comical, sometimes too exaggerated to enjoy them without raising an eyebrow.
My favorite book by the author is still Penelope, but Murder At Rudhall Manor could be very enjoyable too, if you are in the mood of a historical comedy with a pretty good mystery.
