The story is very hard to follow, it's very stop start and doesn't really go anywhere which is a common issue when dc adds magic to a batman story. I was hoping it would follow the same style in writing as "joker" as this is kind of a sequel to that amazing book but it's miles off, except for the last couple of pages. Still well worth a purchase for the artwork alone though!...more

The art, though not very detailed and going through 3 different artists or so, fits perfectly. The artists used a very 'gritty', noirish style which fits Gotham and the urban jungle that it is.
If you are on the fence purchase this series. Any fan of crime and noir with a little sprinkling in of the 'freaks' will not be disappointed. ...more

I don’t have too much to go off yet, since this was the first issue and was predominantly talking about what had happened off screen and discussing things that is currently going on. That doesn’t mean that I’m not looking forward to chapter two, though. The next issue of Batman: Reptilian looks to be very red and very gruesome....more

However it is not in the same playing field as it’s predecessor, White Knight, that will go down as iconic comic. It borrows heavily from its success to make this story relevant but I almost prefer this story wasn’t published. White Knight left the reader to grapple with the morality of Batman, this story attempts to answers it and many readers might the author’s interpretation off the mark, forced, or not worth the hype. ...more

Batman is posed as the super-criminal, while the Joker (aka Jack Napier) is cast into the light as the hero... or White Knight of Gotham.
The story and art are extremely well done, and I found the entire book very enjoyable. Although the story takes place in an alternate reality set from the universe that we know Batman, it was a very fresh perspective on the relationship that Batman & Joker really share with each other.
I'll be looking for more work done by the author, and I certainly recommend this book to the fans out there. Two thumbs up! It was cool to see such a role reversal, and make this a book worth reading. It's a job well done in my opinion. ...more
