Honestly it started off as pure bdsm sex. The story was a joke. A bit gets added later on, but at that point I felt it a little too late. It is also very jumpy and sporadic which I didn't like. This has a different take on elves though. Not one I persay like but I don't hate it either. Just different. The characters themselves are mediocre. I didn't feel they were very fleshed out. I know this was a short novella, but still...I was hoping for more....more

Although, to be honest, I had expected bit more uncertainty between the two. For Nick to be more confused and needing more time or something to add some angst. This was almost too sweet! I need a bit of drama between them!! I am SO over the coloring of this though. WHY is everything GREEN????? Really makes it hard to visualize things a bit, and makes the author's going over their clothing style rather pointless....more

This stories is layer, upon layer of them. Badly chosen words, actions and not understanding of others leads to a slow-moving wrecking ball. I do not get the actions of many of the characters at times. Minerva and Poppy seem to be the only two with their heads on right. Do not read if you cant hand dubious consent. I wish there was a bit more to this to make it a fuller story but for some reason I was still fully sucked into reading it in just 1 night....more
Cuter that I was expecting. Very innocent and slow building so far. I kept hearing how mature this is, and maybe it will be in future volumes, but so Cuter that I was expecting. Very innocent and slow building so far. I kept hearing how mature this is, and maybe it will be in future volumes, but so far I found it light and a bit adorable. The blushes, unexpected touches (both on purpose and others without realizing). It is very relatable, regardless of sexuality. Not a fan of the coloring of it. Better and more color variety would have made this SO much better. Especially as we get ink stains described as blue but all we get is green...everywhere. I am a bit tired of that color now lol. Fast read, wish we had more dialogue or even inner monologue....more

A bit long winded and a bit too much filler at times but a great character-driven story. I could not to what Harry does in this. Nope. Could not even attempt this prophecy. I fully get why he is so frustrated through the whole thing. On the other hand Severus' character amazed me. He starts off all nasty toward Harry but as things progress, he changes. And the things he does...things Harry never even realizes.. are just so sweet. And yet he is only human and also does some stupid things too. Lots of angst, hurt and misunderstanding. THis was a long fic but I just could not put my phone down from reading this....more

Flat out cruel and I was beyond baffled how anyone could behave such a way toward someone they were supposedly in love with not long ago. I don't care if you met someone else. Things do come more to light, after too much angst. So Severus feels Harry was happy to lock up "innocent" Death Eaters, yet is partner is Theodore Nott and both Pansy and Blaise Zabini also plays a personal role in Harry's life. Right... I never could figure out which of Severus' thoughts were real or fake. Narcissa's character was perplexing as well and didn't quite feel right. Actually, the entire Malfoy family was a bit Ooc. Hastings is awful in so many ways, none of which I can say here. I liked the dual perspective of both Harry and Severus, plus we get a few others....more

It wasn't making a lot of sense and Severus seemed a bit OOC or unexplained. A few chapters in it gets better. Harry pulls some powerful strings to get married to him to avoid Lucius and a dept he 'owes' him. I feel a lot of strange liberties were taken with this. The timeline of what has happened since school and this point feel close, yet Harry is crazy powerful in many ways and knowledgeable, very confident and knows more about wizarding knowledge and secrets than Hermione, Snape and others put together?! I find that odd. Yet I enjoyed reading this from Severus' perspective. A nice solid change....more

At the beginning, I am surprised Harry trusts as he does in this. But I can so see him sneaking around to solve things, but I don't see him doing these early steps alone. I felt so sorry for Severus and Draco in this, for different reasons. I love how Narcissa is portrayed though. This story has a lot of death and heartbreak. It does not hold back. ...more

Draco felt a bit OOC, especially it the last chapter. A prankster? Hmm... Not a fan how Harry starts to date both of them, kiss them both independently on the same day. He feels they did wrong to him yet he was playing the field with them each! But that is a personal issue for me. Not a very deep story and more focused on conversation or sex scenes....more

Part light fantasy, romantic comedy. If you ever played D&D you might get a kick out of this. At first it felt almost too cliche, too cheesy and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. But the light-hearted humor and fast pace compelled me to read more and soon I was hooked. You have your standard "Dungeon" party that the story centers around. The speech feels out of tune with the setting, as does the narration but after awhile, it becomes part of the charm of the story. Almost like watching a bunch of people playing a roleplaying game and just staying in character for it. Event he humor aligns to reminding me of great game sessions. I liked all the characters, although there were a lot fo palm-worthy moments between Arek and Matt, since neither can apparetnly communicate or understand the other very well at times. Arek really does earn his title and is quite an amazing character, even with his flaws. And I love that these characters are so far from perfect. It added so much! Well, this might be one I re-visit one day and I will definitely be watching for more from FT Lukens....more

I kept wondering if Mira was Miranda, or if the house had a pov. Utter chaos. And so dry... It finally eases into a bit more of a story but it is often confusing. Like a badly explained dream. I struggled relating to the characters. And that ending, with all its questions!! Not a book for me. I so badly wanted to dnf this but pushed through because it was short. Let me get out of the way what I didn't like first though. The politics, election stuff. Too many little nuisances that I felt were unnecessary. I have never been a fan of politics in books to begin with. So this is nothing against the author but it did affect my enjoyment. Plus, mentioning being a 2020 election, even though it was fake people, the mentioning of some real politicians as well just left a sour taste in my mouth after all the political chaos of the past year. Just bad timing I guess. But due to these are things beyond the author's control, I wanted to be sure to keep the rating at 4 stars. Only the day-to-day white house jargon is what I didn't care for. I wanted more about the characters behind the scenes. I would have loved more Nora and June especially. I really liked the complexity of Henry's character in particular. I wish Alex's character growth was a bit more gradual in how he saw Henry. It wasn't quite a "light switch" but still too close. I loved the little group of friends everyone became and the family dynamics that were brought into play. Worth the read....more

Deja was such an awesome character. Such a great personality! She is the type of person you want as a friend. She'll never let you be bored. Josie was a bit bland in comparison.

So many references to characters, shows, games and mreo that I like. Some I din;t even know and some surprised me (like the reference to the game Catherine). I love that there are original ideas around Starfield, your mainstreamers (Star Wars, Star Trek, etc) and the more obscure. It was a blast to read this!!! I quickly got into this but I was sold and burst our laughing hard at the part where Imogen is putting on contacts and thinks "It's like condoms for my eyeballs." I came undone! Ashley Poston is officially a new favorite author of mine! At first I wasn't a big fan of Jess. It took me a while to relate to here. Imogen was easy to connect to. Harper was a favorite of mine. All in all, each character was nicely flesh out. Although I would have liked to see more Elle and Darien in this one. Also I wanted to get to know Calvin better. Maybe a third book? Can he be corrupted as a fan?! Great story!!...more

Roan's character was intriguing but a bit confusing in how he is so standoffish with his fellow tenants. Ari is often lighthearted but has some drastic mood swings and seems to struggle with what he truly wants. At first I really like Ari a lot but his chain mystery kept me safely at arm's length. The middle is all romance and sex. The story become backround to that and it cost me some interest. While it does pick back up a lot, it made the ending feel rushed and not well explained, especially the building itself. So promising story that is fully covered but not well executed. ...more
