Although, to be honest, I had expected bit more uncertainty between the two. For Nick to be more confused and needing more time or something to add some angst. This was almost too sweet! I need a bit of drama between them!! I am SO over the coloring of this though. WHY is everything GREEN????? Really makes it hard to visualize things a bit, and makes the author's going over their clothing style rather pointless....more
Cuter that I was expecting. Very innocent and slow building so far. I kept hearing how mature this is, and maybe it will be in future volumes, but so Cuter that I was expecting. Very innocent and slow building so far. I kept hearing how mature this is, and maybe it will be in future volumes, but so far I found it light and a bit adorable. The blushes, unexpected touches (both on purpose and others without realizing). It is very relatable, regardless of sexuality. Not a fan of the coloring of it. Better and more color variety would have made this SO much better. Especially as we get ink stains described as blue but all we get is green...everywhere. I am a bit tired of that color now lol. Fast read, wish we had more dialogue or even inner monologue....more

Very important to history and was easily overlooked for too long. It is a point in time everyone can either use a reminder about or take the time to learn about. And the art is wonderful. Not sure how I feel about the author putting herself in as the MC. I feel if a younger reader got this, read this happened and saw the character was the author, they can get confused and thing re-living history like this is possible, verses simply as a living memory passed down. I could have done without the politics being dragged into it. Abridged one-liners taken out of context that didn't need to be there. It also makes it where this book with soon become dated, instead of timeless....more

The story a simplified version that wasn't the best executed in my opinion but not per-say bad. Just mediocre. Maybe because this was once suppose to be a children's tale but way too adult content based? They did a good job toning it down from what I remember of the original tale. I wouldn't push the feminism point at all on this. It worked more like click-bait. It lured me in and, while it wasn't the men who saved the day, the girl still wasn't actually a strong person either. A coward until the last second, trying to wait on the men to save them... ...more
Alright I think my interest in this series has died. It has so much going on. Every time I turn a page I am with other characters, locations and timesAlright I think my interest in this series has died. It has so much going on. Every time I turn a page I am with other characters, locations and times. Trying to keep up with it all and then wondering why and is it important (the location and times). I don't like any characters except maybe Dana and Cooper. I though her dad was decent but NOPE. Too much nastiness in this series for me. I don't see where it is headed and honestly cant muster up the energy to care anymore. I do really like the art style! Also I wish they didn't add the crossover with Chew and the Saga reference. I am guessing they had permission but it just didn't work. Like why and how did Chu get there and his expressions weren't the same at all....more

Or something else? In a town where in one day the dead came back is changing everything. I can easily see the religious contradictions and riots happening. That seemed very realistic if such a thing happened. But some of those coming back also seem different. Or are they just more...aware...and angry? Some seem heavily effected, others acting more normal. For now. But I expect more to be revealed in future volumes. But amongst the revived, we also have other secrets. A Murder, a black market team and more... There is a LOT happening in this!...more

We go into some major details of what happened in Auschwitz and how lucky the authors parents were to both survive it and then reunite. The knowledge that they do is such a miracle and the sole light amongst so much darkness of this. Art's relationship to his father and how that is also portrayed played such an interesting part in this story. It is so easy to understand his father more as you hear his story but also easy to feel the frustration of his family. A great and vital look at history. A must read in my opinion!...more

Lots of tragedy but that was to be expected going in. I really appreciate how it felt more "1st person" with the story being told to the son and how it is then shared with us. They way things are said adds more depth and humanity to the situation. I found the choice to use mice, cats and pigs interesting choices for the characters. In a way, it kept this lighter, more easy to swallow. Yet the seriousness is not lost in the least. I must say the situation between his father and mother-in-law in current times is sad. The struggle to make everything have value and a use reminds me so much of my great-grandparents and all they went through....more

I hope there will be more to this series in the future....more
