It is now the Fall season so I want to read something mysterious and this did not disappoint. I listened to the audiobook which is amazing with different casts and sound effects included that made the listening experience more thrilling.
It has always been tricky to write a review for a mystery/thriller book so I am not gonna write anything about the plot or setting. The best way to enjoy this book is to know nothing about it except the synopsis given.
The plot is bizarre but amusing and with a sprinkle of mystery. I did enjoy listening to it in audiobook format. I love how clumsy the main character is that makes me feel frustrated at times and I have to remind myself that it is how the plot should be.

It actually took me a month to finish this gem. It does not usually take me that long to read a book even big books but this one is different. Don't get me wrong, I love the book. It is just that it is so detailed and dragging at some point that it made me feel bored reading it, so I decided to just read a chapter a night. And it worked! I finished it!
This book has many supporting characters, and each of them played an important role. Not everyone is perfect which is good because they became relatable. The character development is also prominent, thanks to the book being so detailed that I feel like I know them personally and watched them grow and change.
This book is suitable for the Halloween season and for all ages....more

This is a part of the Cape Bay Cafe Mystery Series but it could be read as a standalone but still better to read the first book to at least have a background of the characters and how it all started.
There is nothing much on character development but more on knowing more about Cape Bay Area and we get to know more characters in this second book.
This book is for readers who want to try the mystery genre or if but i think it is not recommended to mystery readers, i mean if you have read like books with high level mystery because this is very predictable and quite slow in progress in my opinion.

As a pattern to this series, new character comes in every book and they add to the mysterious and excitement to the story. There are quite a number of characters but their roles were clearly set and defined and each of them are like puzzle pieces that match each other.
In short, I definitely enjoyed this one and I am now off to read the next book.

Six of Crows is definitely one of my top read this year. Everything suits my interest and liking. So this book is about a group of teenagers who are in an impossible heist to penetrate a prison that has never been breached before to save a scientist who created the most powerful drug, jura parem.
We are introduced to 6 distinct characters.
“A gambler, a convict, a wayward son, a lost Grisha, a Suli girl who had become a killer, a boy from the Barrel who had become something worse.”
1. Kaz Bekker – the group’s leader who has the leadership qualities that make others respect and follow him. His real thirst of revenge drives him to move forward and survive another day.
2. Inej – the wraith in the group and is the best at what she does. She is strong but I like how she shows her weaknesses.
3. Nina – the grisha is so straightforward and funny. She is so real.
4. Matthias – the grisha hunter. He and Nina has a history and he struggles to get over his hatred of Nina.
5. Jesper – the gambler. In my opinion, I think his past wasn’t clear enough and I want to know more of him in the next book.
6. Wylan – the wayward son. Everyone has their own POV in the book except him but we get to know more of him through Jasper’s POV.
The characters are my favourite because they are all unique and distinct. And their interactions to one another are so realistic, I mean it was clearly and well written that it makes me feel like you are with them and watching them come to life and talk to each other. Each one of the characters has a backstory and they are slowly revealed in the book.
These characters do not trust each other but have to rely to one another to get out alive. ...more
