I love the passion and intensive love the MCs felt towards each other and the scenes of demonstrative affection towards each other. I loved the slow burn in the first part of the book, however it's like the author felt the need to make up for that by writing long drawn out sex scenes in the other half of the book. After awhile it became so excessive I finally had to skim them.

Very well written, but the relationship development between hero and heroine was too subdued and a touch sappy for my taste. It just sort of happened Very well written, but the relationship development between hero and heroine was too subdued and a touch sappy for my taste. It just sort of happened after some mild flirting scenes and a heated kiss initiated by the heroine (which was nice). I liked how she mentally drooled over him throughout the book. LOL
The hero had one prosthetic eye, so it annoyed me when the author constantly made references to the different expressions in his EYES. Can a prosthetic eye show expression?
The subplots with the 3 minor characters’ povs were annoying. I basically skimmed those.
The puppy, Grits, sounded adorable but after a while I felt like I was reading a Walt Disney story whenever Grits made an appearance which was more often than not.
Overall it was a struggle to finish this book. The last chapter and the epilogue had me rolling my eyes so much I gave myself a headache.

5 stars audio 3 stars story. Ok,,, so,,, I think I would've rated the story higher if I didn't allow my self to get distracted while listening to it. I5 stars audio 3 stars story. Ok,,, so,,, I think I would've rated the story higher if I didn't allow my self to get distracted while listening to it. I had to keep rewinding when scenes and characters changed but still felt lost. I don't know if it's me or the author so I'm settling for the middle by rating it 3 stars....more
